Another Newby introduction

Hi everyone, I'm Claire. I have just this week diagnosed myself with PCOS.

I came off BCP in November cos i had been on them 10 yrs, and my Ave cycle length has been 52 days. I live in Greece and have no medical insurance and at the moment no spare cash for a Dr, so have been searching for the past few weeks online for reasons for such a long cycle, and when reading about PCOS, alot of it seems familiar to me. I got my period first at 14yrs, and went on BCP at 17yrs, but between that time I only had approx 3-4 periods each year.

I am also wondering if i have a thyroid problem as I am famous amongst family and friends for feeling cold even when everyone else is sweating. I have always had more body odour than other people i know, I do suffer with quite thick and dark body hair, and more often than not, have dandruff. Although, I have never struggled with weight issues.

So, until I have enough cash to book a Dr / Gyne appointment, I am busy surfing for advice & natural remedies. I am keen to try cinnamon, Raspberry tea to kick start my period, and a better diet.

If anyone has advice for me, or to point me in the direction of any threads you think i might benefit from, please reply!

Treatment: Started Metformin and Yaz the BC Pill and will be rechecked in 3 months. TTC since August 2004 Stopped TTC May 2008, trying to regulate hormones and lose weight before trying again. I really want to have a baby before the end of 2010. This means I need to lose a bunch of weight and get my PCOS under control.
