hi there, iam 16 and just been diagnosed with pcos, the thing is, i am very skinny, underweight, 47kg n m height's 5'2", dont have acne, no pimples, no facial hair, actually i didnt get my periods for like 3 months, went to doc, had an ultrasound, my ovaries had a netvolume of 15ml, fsh 3.11iu, Lh11iu, startd surfin internet, kept cryin m eyes out, had a feelin lyk everybdy is sayin CONGRATULATIONS U HAVE PCOS!! you cant have kids, u'll grow facial hair, turn into some ugly eyesore!!!! cant help crying, doc gave me glucophage 500, and norethisteroneBP 5mg tabs, its been a week iam taking tabs but still havent got my periods, my biggest fear is that i'll grow hair on my face, n dry patches have started appearing on my face. i feel lyk i hate this world, i swear im goin 2 commit suicide if a single hair appeared on my face.
They cought it young with you, feel lucky. My younger sister was diagnoised when she was 14, and she has followed the meds daily for two years now. Her periods are regular, and she has had no problem with facial hair. Every story is different. But stick with the meds- I hope they work for you.
Yeah You are lucky to have caught it early. Facial hair is HELL, I have every symptom Except Acne! It is depressing but somehow I live through it I just keep looking for new medication to help with my symptoms. I get discouraged a lot and feel alone but I know I'm not so I just keep goin. Keep your head up. & Good Luck!
You are very young, and your world is just starting. Your Dr caught it early, and you were smart enough to come here for help. I've learned that there isn't an issue or question that I have that isn't on here. This place is the holy grail for PCOS!
And know this, every symptom sounds horrible but it is managable. I am 23 and have acne and a hairy face. Luckly, I work at a Senior Center and fit right in. LOL!
Be young, have fun, take care of your body, and try not to stress.

Reading your post made me feel so sad. I hope you have been able to read some of the posts in here to help you feel a little better. Please let me share my story.
I was diagnosed with PCOS when I was 14 (long before you were born, 1984). All the doctors told me was that I would never conceive without medical intervention and that I had to go on OCP. I too, was thin and without symptoms besides no AF at the time. After I turned 18 I got married and went off OPC TTC. I gained 60 pounds and started growing facial hair. I did not get pregnant. This was also before you were born, 1988-1991. Nobody told me anything about PCOS and there was no internet to find information for myself.
Well, by 1991 I divorced my husband and went back on OCP and started dancing. I lost the 60 pounds. I decided to go off the OCP since I could not get pregnant anyway. I had AF in Jan 1992 when I completed my last pack of OCP.
In Oct. 1992 my breast became very tender and my girlfriend tol me I was pregnant. I told her there was no way I was pregnant since I have PCOS. Finially, after about a week I POAS to shut her up. I was shocked to see a BFP! I did not believe it and it took three more BFPs after POAS and an ultrasound to convince me I was really pregnant. My DS was born in July 1992 and is now 16 years old.
In the last 10 years I have ignored my PCOS and this has not been a good thing for me. Now I am going after it with a vengence! I am back on OCP, have started metformin and am losing weight.
My point is that you know what you have and there is tons of information out there on how to control it, unlike when I was your age. You know that you have to take extra good care of yourself to keep this under control. You know what to do to prevent these symptoms from occurring. When I was younger nobody took anything for PCOS but OCP. Nobody talked about insulin resistance. Now we know about prescriptions and natural supplements that can help. If you use these things now you will be able to control the symptoms and not fight the harder battles so many have fought because they went years without knowing what to do. You will be able to prevent excessive weight gain, hair growth, etc.
You also have a place like this web site to be in touch with other women who are experiencing the same things you are. Have you been to the teen area? Knowing that you are not the only feeling or experiencing the things you are helps greatly.
Please don't lose hope. As long as you can educate yourself you can keep PCOS under control.
