Well.... Dx 2001 and have been ttc for 2yrs. NO LUCK My dr. put me on Provera to make my AF stop. I've had it now for 3 weeks, I'm tired of it. I've noticed that many have been on provera to induce AF but has anyone been on it to stop it. I've been taking it for 5 days and it has not let up. I am also taking glucaphage 500mg. Do you think that I should call dr. or wait til I taken this pills for 10 days?
I have been put on provera many times to stop my af but I never will again! I always had really bad symptoms like swelling(think michellin man) headaches, weight gain and nausea. The last time I took it to stop my af it didn't work. I went to the er (this is 2 mos after af started) and they gave me yasmin 2 a day for the first 4 days and then as directed. Within 1 week I lost 4 pounds and felt much better. In this book I'm reading it says that provera can cause ir as it has adrogenic properties. I know in my case I didn't have any symptoms until I took depo provera and then the sh!@ really hit the fan. The book is called "hormonal balance" by Scott Isaacs. It is easy to read and very informative. It has alot of info on pcos and ir among other things. Best of luck to you!
