Exclamation Another TMI Post

I searched the posts here to try and see if anyone had a similar problem but didn't find anything so decided to start my own. I have alot of trouble with spotting in between and after periods. I have noticed that when I have sex sometimes I will start bleeding. Sometimes just lightly, sometimes a lil more heavily. This can happen when I hadn't been spotting at all. This really freaks my boyfriend out! He has a low sex drive and I"m on the higher end. Anything that chases him farther away from sex isn't good! Just wondering if anyone has had these issues.

I have these issues too sometimes I think the sex might be too rough but even if we take out time I bleed lightly after which is frustrating because it just kills the mood and freaks my husband out...Changing positions sometimes help. Good luck

Thanks for the advice Q. It does really kill the mood. My b/f freaks and has to jump up and shower. I just wonder what causes it. It sucks!

It haS happened to me too. What I have noticed is that it happens when my af just leaves. I have to wait at least 5 days after it leaves so it will not happen. I have to idea why it happens though.

That sometimes happens to me. I find that it mostly happens when I haven't seen AF for awhile. I don't really know it that's what causes it or not.

I have noticed slight bleeding 2-4 days before period is due if I have sex with husband. It freaked him out too.

I had this recurring for years, and was told it was just hormonal - which is wasn't! Don't let your doctor tell you that! Go to a good gynae, who will hopefully tell you what mine did, which was that I just needed my cervix cauterised - which is done under a general anaesthetic, but is a minor op. And bingo! No more bleeding at the wrong time! A revelation....

Glad to see I am not the only one who has had this problem. It happened to me just about two weeks ago and my dbf flipped on me,too! He was all like why didn't you tell me you were on your period-to which I replied I am not or haven't been!

This hasn't happened on frequent basis (thank you God), but every time it does it flips me out.

The few times it has happened it has been two or three days after af passed by for her visit.

It does have something to do with positions too I think.

Default me too...

Are you on birth control pills?

I had this too when I took a hiatus from the pill. I was off them for about 2 years (not ttc) and ended up like you, bleeding when I had sex. Sometimes it was just spotting...sometimes it would last for the morning...and sometimes it would last for a couple of days. I knew it had to do with hormones. I scheduled an appointment with my doc (just a family doc) and he easily agreed that it was hormones. He put me back on the pill and since then, for about the last year, I haven't had any problems at all.

Hopefully it is just a hormone thing that can be worked out, but if not, make sure you get on it soon. Better to deal with it now than have it become something bigger. Plus, you don't want to make your husband scared for life! ;+)

Good luck to you!

I believe I'm on yasmin right now. I'm currently in a masked medication study for Northwestern hospital and i've pretty much figured out what I'm taking. I've had this happen to me on and off the pill. Aren't our bodies just a puzzle. I think I've finally stopped bleeding *hopefully* it's been a week. and I'm due to start my period again in a week and a half yippee.

I've been on Yasmin before too. It wasn't strong enough to stop breakthrough bleeding. Just something to think about.

At least you will hopefully have a few clear days! :+) Hang in there!

I had my cervix cauterized about 3 years ago now for the same reason and I didn't get any anaesthetic, not even local. Maybe mine wasn't as severe as yours. It wasn't sore though, just uncomfortable which carried on for a few days and I had watery discharge for about 5 days.
