Hi girls wanted to update since I had my appt with the GP to talk about how the meds were working and also the high risk ob to talk about the meds. My GP decided to go up to 100mg on the Zoloft. I take it at night and havent noticed any problems. What is the most Zoloft someone can take? I have been feeling better and still get attacks from time to time and usually they are only mini attacks and I can control them. I have had a few kinda bad ones since lowering the klonopin dose from about 6-8 pills a day and now I am down to about 4 pills a day of .5 so its a low dose. my GP told me to stay on the klonopin and dont go under 4 pills for right now since thats already cutting my dose a lot bc she doesnt want me to have any more increased attacks by going to low on the dose. So I meet with her in another month to let her know how I am doing on the lower dose of the klonopin and higher dose of the Zoloft. They are hoping by then I will be ok to go down on the klonopin dose so we shall see.
Today was my visit with the high risk OB. She said all my meds were fine except the klonopin. She said it was listed as a class C in Australia and D in the USA. She agreed that it was probably advised not to take it bc they have so few studies and the risks are probably low with taking a low dose. But of course she would rather me be able to get off it and agreed its a benefit risk outweigh. She said I could take the klonopin until I got pregnant and then switch to something safer (I was surprised to hear that) or could switch in a little while before I got pregnant. she also said she is going to set me up an appt with a psychiatrist (I am going to counseling but they cant presc. meds) to talk about the meds since they are so up to date. She mentioned Buspar (has anyone heard or taken this) instead of the Klonopin. She said sometimes it helps a ton and sometimes not at all. So thats where I am in all this. Hugs!

Sounds like you got some answers about your meds and pregnancy. I've heard of Buspar, but I don't know anything about it. I do know that Zoloft can go to a pretty high dose. Seems someone on here has mentioned going as high as 220 mg., but I don't know who. I'm glad things are going better for you. It's always good to hear that someone is having success.

My friend was on Buspar for panic attacks. She loved it but said that it had major sexual side effects....but I think most psychiatric meds have side effects....except for Wellbutrin, for me anyway.
Good luck!

Get involved in animal rescue. You won't be sorry. Your heart may break, there may be times when your eyes are red-rimmed for days. You may lose faith in the goodness of people, but your spirit will be renewed by the resilience of those you save. It isn't easy, but it's worth it. I promise you, you will be forever changed.
KH, that all sounds very good! 100 of Zoloft it not too high a dose, it's quite common, so don't worry that you are going up to a really or unsafe dose of it. And if it works out, then it will probably allow you to cut back further on the Klonopin, which is exactly what you want to do.
I'm happy you're going to reassess in another month. Maybe then you'll be able to do with out the Klonopin and not even try the Buspar! I hope that's what happens. That would be a really excellent scenario given a future pregnancy. But it also sounds like the OB is confident that you will be OK if you continue on a low dose of Klonopin!
You sound very upbeat! That's great. Do you have any idea how different you sound than you did a month or two ago? A more positive, confident, optimistic KimberlyHeidi! I think things are going well for you!

You're welcome. Yes, you do sound much much better, more positive, less afraid. Have your son or hubby noticed anything? I've always found that my family or co workers seem to notice before I do that I'm doing better.
