Hey Stephanie, I start taking Dex tomorrow but I'm getting nervous because I keep reading that it can cause weight gain and increased appetite!
So how have you been on it?? I know I already ask on your blog a week or so ago; anything changed since then?

I have noticed absolutely nothing- no major changes. I am responding excellent to my injections this time though, but that could be a combination of the Dex. and the higher dose of injects this time.
About the s/e's... our doc did tell me that it may make the taker a little happier too, as a possible side effect in addition to the appetite increase and possible weight gain stuff. Interesting.

Oh, make sure you swallow it fast and take it with food as a precaution to ward off any possible tummy upset. It tastes as bad as prednisone, it may be smaller but you don't want it sitting on your tongue- yuck.

It's a relief to hear you're not having major s/e. And yep, I remember Dr J telling me I'd be happier, sleep better, and want to eat more on Dex. I certainly don't mind the first two!
Thanks for the heads up on how to take it. I accidentally crunched down on a Xanax once and thought I would die, LOL! So I've learned my lesson with pills - get them down ASAP!
