Default Anti-depressants or anti-anxiety meds that don't cause weight gain?

Does anyone know of any anti-depressants or anti-anxiety medications that do not cause weight gain? I have generalized anxiety disorder and depression and typically an SSRI (celexa) will take care of both but every time I have taken it, I have gained a lot of weight. The longer I am on it, the more weight I gain. I have also taken Prozac which made me sleep all the time and gain weight as well. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. TIA

Mandi

I'm taking Lexapro (escalitopram) for anxiety and depression, and I'm continuing to lose weight steadily. I've been on it for nearly four months now.

I am currently taking Lexapro for my anxiety problem and my doctor also told me that it shouldn't cause me to gain weight. HTH.

I am sorry to hear that celexa is not working for you. I guess the best thing to do is talk to you doctor about trying something else. Hope you find an antidepressant that works for you without the weight gain.
