i'm not sure what's going on but it looks as though the antibiotic for my boils on my thighs has brought on AF. anyone else had that happen? i haven't had a period without BCP or progesterone in 5 years so i'm excited and hope it'll help regulate me.

Nothing surprises me anymore with this stupid condition. I know I was going through a phase where I was getting recurring yeast infections that seemed to be delaying AF. As soon I as I treated the yeast infection AF would come, it was the weirdest thing. Maybe the infection was doing the same thing to you?

that's the only thing i can think of. it even sounded weird to my ob/gyn's nurse when i talked to her yesterday. AF definately came last night though. did you get clotting and watery blood? sorry if that's TMI but it's just a wierd period to me.

Hello, I suffer from alot of these boils. Typically, your sugars are totally out of whack (very high) and thats what causes the boils. They could be high for several weeks b4 a boils shows up. So then you get one lanced and take antibiotics for the infection and that makes you sugars fall dramatically so they get 'normal again'. This causes changes in you hormones which could make you have a normal af , even if it's just 1 time. It's almost like loosing a little weight. Just 10 or 15 lbs can make an annovulatory women start ovulating again. Unfortunately it's hard for us to loose weight. That may be one explanation.

MSVON- I used to get lots of yi too, and the same thing would happend to me i would get af. But when i told the Drs they said it was either a 'coinsidence' or the actually said i was hurting myself! what idiots!!

i've never had a yeast infection so i don't know anythinga bout that. i checked my blood sugars continually for a month to check them for my ob/gyn and he said they were good with only a few high ones. i take metformin er right now but i think they're going to look at upping my dosage in the next month or so. hopefully that'll help give me a normal O and AF. who knows?! just funny that antibiotics brought it along.
