Hi hoping...

How r u doing? sorry for the late reply...as I have been doing a lot of permutation and combination to find out the appropriate clinic...yup I had also seen this survey somewhere and yes most of the clinics have great reviews...

ok now I am trying to shortlist two clinics in Delhi and two in Bombay..then I will try to shorlist one each and then decide which one to opt ...

till now as per my research Delhi IVF centre and mother & child of Delhi....and Jaslok and Malpani of Bombay seems to be taking lead...

now regarding Delhi IVF centre I had read somewhere that Dr Anoop Gupta's wife is the embryologist (not sure though) and someone had raised doubt about her competence...though Dr. Anoop Gupta's reviews are good but the role of embryologist is very important...and regarding Dr Nalini Mahajan I am reading a lot of positive...so I think that I will soon shorlist Mother & child in Delhi.....

and regarding Bombay...very confused between Malpani and Dr Firuza Parikh...both are competent enough...but one thing is that Malpanis have done a lot of publicity through internet (which is not bad in the technological world)...but I mean this is how I came to know about them through their add on internet...and Dr Firuza Parikh with no publicity is equally famous...and also she is PhD..now though at present I am a bit inclined towards malpani clinic as I know more about them and have talked to them...but I think its worth doing more research to conclude...

do let me know what you feel..?

take care....

Hi Chit Chat,

I really appreciate your advice. I have been on Glucophage for last 2 months. I didn’t have periods since last 2-3 months and ultrasound showed I had cysts. The last ultrasound showed that my cysts are gone. But still didn’t have periods this month L
Where are you based?

Just called up the doc and she suggested me for another IUI cycle. Looks like its a long wait. I have a cyst on the left side of the ovary since past 7 months and put on Metformin since then. Still no improvement. Looks like iam headed towards a lapro surgery. Tubes are fine and no other problem except the cyst..donno wot's wrong! Any suggestions?

Married since 7 years

Myself: 31 Dh:34
(No Male factor prob)

Diagnosed of PCOS since past 5 years

Taking infertility treatment since past 2 years,
Total 4 IUI's( Failed)
Diagnosis: Unexplained infertility

Thanks Chit Chat for giving the information. I am too visitng Delhi in december for a month! very much looking forward for that And hey had my periods today!! on my own I am starting clomid from tomorrow- that would be my first cycle on clomid.

Mystery, sorry to know about you. I would suggest you to try yoga in case you you are not doing it already. Specially the pranayams- it helped me in weight reduction, getting my cycles back and got rid of cysts.
Please let me know if you need any information on this.

Mystery78, sorry to hear that your cycle was unsuccessful. I have similiar issues as you and I have been searching for some solutions. My doctor has told me that lapro surgery isn't neccessary and he feels that the procedure wouldn't greatly improve your chances of getting pregnant, unless your condition is severe. I have read many research and it does support his claim. (He has been in research for over 20 years and works at the local university.)

He isn't a religious man but he suggested that prayer helps you emotionally and sometimes his patients have been successful due to the stress levels are lowered. For patients with PCOS, low levels of FSH injections over longer periods of time will give you a better chance of a successful pregnancy with IUI. The chairman of the department also did a study where placement of fertilized eggs and sperm lower in the uterus will give you a better chance of pregnancy vs. higher in the uterus.

Good luck. I hope the information helps. If your doctor wants references, google "Plosker" or "Keefe, David" with the combination of PCOS, IUI or IVF.

Hi all...

Mystery-I am sooo sorrry to hear about your cycle..hugs.....I know how devastating it feels after so much effort and all the hopes....and it becomes difficult to understand that why it is happening...but I am sure that we all will get our answers soon..till then hoping you all the best for future and may you get a quick BFP...
regarding lapro I donno much but I have heard that some switch to direct IVF...and I still believe that 3-4months with full devotion to natural herbs, diet and yoga must be tried before going to it...like when I started TTC..we only tried for 6months actively (that may mean 2-3 ovulatory cycles maximum with PCOS) and I lied to doctors that its being long and started the medical path..now after my failed IVF and lot of reserach I feel the same and currently on a 4-5 month break before another IVF and am following the natural path...even if it will not result in a BFP it makes your body ready for a pregnancy...sorry for the long post...

Ashima-thats great that AF arrived...and hope your cycles become regular and all the best for clomid cycle...you must be excited for your Delhi trip..!
ok tell me something about pranayam..like for how long you do it...what aasans..and for how long kapalbharti is supposed to be done...when i do it I get bored and have to switch to another aasan and then I try it again...also I mix some exercise and yoga and in total I do it for 1/2 an hour -45 min....

Hoping-how are you doing? are you looking to visit India in near future?
keep in touch...

regarding me AF has not arrived yet and its being the longest and weird cycle...like no AF after failed IVF...i think all the hormones and medicines are causing this...nothing after 15th may...i will visit doctor soon to get it induced...sighh...

Hi Chit Chat..

Ok now about Pranayams, i usually do kapalbhati, Alom Vilom and Baharya Pranayam. What i have observed is that kapalbhati is very good for cysts and weight loss. Alom Vilom gives you mental peace along with its health benefits. It is important to do these pranyams regularly. I know one gets bored doing them but after making them a regular practice, you will see the effects on your body within a month’s time. You can even listen to some meditation music while doing them. I have got that Ramdeva CD for yoga at home which tells you how to do these pranyams properly. I also do some yoga exercises from the same CD specially for my back as I am a software engg and go for yoga classes weekly. Search for Pranayams on google/youtube.

I cant paste links here due to restrictions.

Hope this helps.

My Best wishes to you.
Ashima

Thanks Ahimsa for the info. I have the CD with me too but it is difficult to make a routine and do it regularly, thats what I struggle with at least.
But I am going to renew my efforts now , ever since I have been diagnosed with PCOS, at least now I understand whats wrong. Its scary reading all the ways this affects your body and my dr wants me to start the birth control pills and i want to give natural methods a try before starting those.
Do you know of anything in homeopathic medicines that can help??

Hi all...

Stalwar...welcome to the thread..!! yup very true that PCOS is quite common in India....don't worry if you can't make a routine...its a bit difficult for everyone...but try and keep on doing it as much as you can...even if you skip for some days don't worry start it again...sorry I have no idea about homeopathic thing...may be other girls can shed some light..all the best....

Ashima..thanks..i will sure google it and find some more info..actually i am already doing all of them only its with kapalbharti that i loose concentration...will try to increase though...and BTW I am glad you are doing it for your back...I am surrounded by all the soft engg and most of them have back pain..and nobody is doing yoga..if I try to tell them they think I am mad and has a lot of ample time to do it (i being the exception professionally)...i wish i could set your example in front of them that soft engg can also do it..lol..

MamasanLZN, In fact my doc suggested that with laproscopy the cysts can be pushed inside the wall and the problem won't recur. I have been hearing lots of people telling that it does not help much. You are right. The only way is to have faith on God and hope for the best. But sometimes, as you know it gets a bit too much and you tend to get pessimistic

How long hv u been suffering from PCOS? Do you have any weight problems as well?

Chitchat- Yeah thanks for all the support. In fact i have decided to go on a 3 month break and try some natural remedies that can be useful. Well what kind of natural herbs and diet can be useful for PCOS? Can you suggest something?

Well my workout only involves doing treadmill regularly for half an hour and besides i just keep a check on my diet. That's all. Otherwise, i have been taking metformin from past 7 mnths but did not find it to be much useful.
And i hope the natural remedies work for you in effective healing..all the best to you:-)

Ashima- You seem to be a yoga expert and how do you manage to do such tough exercises? According to you, which is the best time to do yoga exercises and how to start if you are a beginner? Iam glad that all the pranayams and kapalbhatis are giving good results and working in your case. Wish you all the very best in all your endevours.
