Are you a vegetarian? If you are, I would consult a dietician to make sure that you are getting all your neccessary vitamins. Supplements help but somethings you can't replace with a pill. Make sure if you are going to take a prenatal vitamin... PLEASE make sure that it say "prenatal" on the bottle and not "multivitamin".

Make sure you are drinking plenty of water because that baby will need it. Rest and try not to think too much. I know it is easy to say, but you will have plenty of time to worry when the baby comes.

Be super careful with what you eat and drink the next 9 weeks. Again congrats on the news. Now go surround yourself with women who has been trying to get pregnant. You know that pregnancy is a contagious disease.

Hi Anjali,

Heartiest congratulations to you. Very very glad to know about your pregnancy. It must be a great feeling. Lots of best wishes and god bless!!!

Well one of my friends in UK who concieved with PCOS was taking Pregnacare which has over 19 vitamins, folic acid and other essential minerals. I have heard its an excellent prenatal supplement and has to be taken after having good food. Its a better to consult a qualified dietician to get further information on dietary supplements. Good Luck:-)

Hi...I am also Indian. Recently diagonsed with PCOS. Though I had doubt of it from last 1 year but ob-gyn was not ready to accept it as I am Thin Cyster and had not much symptoms other than Irregular periods. Now I am taking treatment under RE and he is doing close monitoring.
From 2006 as soon as I got married and landed in USA, my periods got haywire. I dont know the lifestyle or weather doesnt suit me or what. Due to lack of activities here and all day at home, may be I developed irregularity in my cycles.
Now I am trying to concieve a baby and on second round of clomid. Its nice to see all Indian cysters around here. Please do share your stories.

Congratulations Anjali and have happy and healthy 9 Months.

Hi Hope4Mom,

Welcome on board!
Your story looks similar to mine, I always had regular periods and since April'09 they went irrregular. I am also on my 2nd cycle of Clomid. Are you checking if you are ovulating? I am using Clear Blue tests at the moment.
I am also trying some de- stressing activities and (just) trying to have a balanced diet!
would love to hear from you more........

Hi all, I'm new to the board, but was surprised to find so many other Indian cysters! I'm Indian, 29 and just got a confirmed PCOS diagnosis from my gyn a few weeks ago. I've gotten the diagnosis on and off before in my early 20s, but no one was ever sure for some reason. Who knows. Anyhow, this doc is sure, so here I am. I started taking Yasmin about a week ago and will start taking Metformin this weekend. I seriously need to lose about 50 lbs, which is going to be difficult. I never have any success losing weight and I've lost the drive to do it on some level. BUT, since I'm starting Metformin, I'm gonna try my best in hopes that it may give my body that extra push it needs. Anyhow, don't wanna write a book in my first post. Just want to say it's nice to meet you all and have company and such.

Best, Geeta

Hey ladies!

Thanks for all the advice...I am doing my best with the food and vitamins. Things are so hectic trying to balance work and home life. I miss the boring days of India..haha..

Welcome Geeta...i hope the metformin works for you. It actually helped me get my periods to come more regular. I would also recommend a low glycemic index diet. Its good to reduce weight for people with PCOS. Hope this helps!

Anjali
