Evening ladies...

I am keeping hope along with all of you that things will work out in the end.

Skyhunter...i agree with Tasha...dont put your life on hold because of what ifs. I count myself lucky to have the support I have in my DH.

I am going in for a lap surgery...its to make sure I dont have endometriosis and that my tubes remain unblocked. Its scheduled for Oct. 2. Until then, I am waiting for the surgery before I try another round of injections to make eggs. I have some large cysts remaining from my last cycle and they need to dissolve before I can try again. So it looks like late October before I get to try again for a baby...

hope all is well with you ladies!

~anjali

Default hello to all!

I am Shalini and I have not sent any messages since I was diagnosed with PCOS in May or June, i don't remember. I would like to find out from all you experienced women, that is it impossible to become pregnant without having all these surgeries and taking medications or injections. I had some blood tests done and the doctor said that I had plenty of eggs but i have to undergo a laproscopy, to puncture some of the cysts, get some cells from the inside lining of the womb, and put dye through the tubes to see if they are blocked. The little operation is on Sat the 30th of Aug and after that he is going to refer me to some hospital for fertility treatment. I believe in miracles and was just wondering whether I could get pregnant without all these procedures? I think we will all be pregnant and babies. even if its wishful thinking I want to continue living the dream. I am taking Senatogen. As advised by someone to take cinnamon and honey everyday, i don't do it very regularly. I have begun to eat more healthily now. Yeah and thats just me!

Have a lovely day!

Good afternoon lovely ladies,

Avantika-- I actually started noticing the hair loss about 3 months ago and never had an issue before then-- i guess it might have been going on for a longer period of time but I never noticed since I had so much hair on my head. When I talked to my endo she also thought it was strange that I was just loosing my hair now and asked me if I was doing anything different. I am not hypothyroid (not yet anyway) but I did have elevated thyroid antibodies which may eventually lead to hypothyroidism. My endo said it was nothing to worry about and my TSH is 2.37. I have read several articles that your TSH should be below 2.0 although lab tests consider upto 4.5 to be normal so I am a little confused. I have never been on any type of medication until now. I am not comfortable with taking bcp's and spiro long term but I know I need something for now to control my hormones. I have been lucky to not have any weight or acne issues but I think the extra hair is worse :o( I am not sure how many hairs I loose everyday but I hate looking in the shower drain when I wash my hair-- it makes me really sad.

I also try to eat more organic foods and for the past 2 yrs have always tried to use organic milk. I try to stay away from processed foods. I think exercising is very important and am trying to get back in the flow of things.

Skyhunter-- Low iron does cause hair loss but my levels were normal. You should def have it checked as that might be a cause.

WELCOME Shalini- unfortunately I cannot offer any insight as I am not TTC but I do know of some ppl who have conceived without trying medications or surgery but I think it depends on each individuals situation.

Anjali as always I am wishing the best for you and of course all of you ladies.

-Sonia

Hi Ladies,
I hope you're all doing well! I wanted to write sooner, but I just came back from the shore.

Shalini, I was diagnosed in June with PCOS and was PG in April! I didn't know I had PCOS and didn't know I was PG until I bled for 2 weeks because I never took a pregnancy test. My DH and I have been trying for 1.5 years and we conceived on our own BEFORE I began eating organic foods, taking Clomid and internal ultrasounds, which gives me A LOT of hope because I thought I was barren! I had the HSG X-ray to see if my tubes were open prior to conceiving. My ob/gyn said the HSG x-ray opens up the tubes and gets rid of the "cob-webs" and it did for me because I conceived a couple cycles after. However, everyone is different. My ob/gyn didn't want to start me on Clomid until she was sure of my tubes being open, which makes sense.

Unfortunately, women with PCOS struggle with early MC and have tried to prepare myself mentally for it, but it's still difficult. I didn't grieve initially because I didn't feel like I had a bond with the baby because I didn't even know I was PG. I think I'm grieving now because I'm reading a book about miscarriage, adoption loss and infertility which is triggering some thoughts.

Soon after, a friend referred me to her endo/fertility specialist for further knowledge. I really encourage women to see an endocrinologist who is also a fertility specialist if that's possible since you are TTC. I feel blessed to have two specialties in 1 doctor so I don't need to schedule more appointments than need be as the frequent visits take a toll on you.

I hope this gives you hope Shalini. I don't know how long you and your DH have been trying, but the technology is there to help us. For me, knowing what's going on inside of my body gives me a peace of mind. I'm a person who hates change and going through this process is a lot of change and is stressful. Knowing that PCOS is preventing me from TTC is a good enough reason for me. When I didn't know what was going on with my body was when I was more anxious and worried. Thus, feeling like something was wrong with me... and now I know what's going on and have some answers = acceptance and having peace about it.

I count my first PG as a blessing even though I couldn't carry full term. It's given me hope that we can conceive but it may just take longer without the medicines, surgeries, etc to help us - depending on our body issues. I'm currently on a break because my blood work showed that I'm not immune to measles so I got the shot this past Thursday and can't try to conceive for 3 months.

I've never had a laproscopy so I can't speak to that. It sounds like you have large cysts that need to be removed and will keep you in my thoughts and prayers for this Saturday. If you want to know what to expect for the HSG, feel free to let me know and I'll tell you about my experience with it.

I do believe in miracles as well. I trust God that he is faithful and will provide for the desires of our hearts. Sorry for writing a book. Press on Ladies!

hey everyone...hope everyone had a good weekend - am a bit depressed today! My cycles have been irregular from past 2-3 months and this has taken a toll on my stress and energy levels. This cycle was the worst. Had been spotting for couple of days before the actual cycle began - then it was way heavy and painful and still spotting after the whole ordeal. Makes me wonder if my hormones are all over the place and my thyroid too.

On a lighter note...change of subject...anjali good luck with your upcoming lap surgery...I hope you get it this time girl!

Slm81377 I was on femcon fe too for almost a year. It did regulate my cycles but did no good with the hair shedding.

Skyhunter - I shall ask my gyn about yasmin on my next appt scheduled on sept 15. Regarding your question about difference in commercial vs organic milk. In your grocery store dairy section you should find some mik that says 'organic' - it is 100% farm raised and no added hormones so it is more natural. The regular milk will have added hormones.

Sonia - I can relate to your state - I dont look in the shower anymore too to see how many hairs I lost. I haven't had tsh levels and iron levels checked in a while - hate going to doctors office. I guess I am due to have one done pretty soon - next month - shall keep you girls posted.

Shalini - wish you all the very best.
Ahnie - I remember I used the progesterone cream for the first trimester to keep the pregnancy going and that helped...something you might want to consider talking to your gyn the next time...I do have faith that all will be well for you.

Hey ladies,

Its good to know that I'm not going crazy whenever I am depressed. Although the husband does get worried about me when I have my bouts of depression. I really am trying to stay optimistic.

Shalini...each woman with PCOS is different. I was on chlomid cycles for months and it did not do anything for me. I have been ttc for the last 1.5 years. I have had to reschedule my fs appointment for the end of this month so haven't been placed on any injections and stuff yet. I am just hoping that my dream of becoming a mom comes true.

The entire topic on switching to organics is so interesting to me. I may actually try it. I try to eat helathy most of the time and exercise, although \i haven't been able to go to the gym the last week because of work!! I LOVE BEING A TEACHER!!! LOL.

I hope all of you are doing well...its good to have you ladies to talk to.

Tasha

Hello to the most strong willed people ive ever met!,

I say this because i know it isnt a joke to live each day, waking up and thinking "will i or wont i?"

Shalini - welcome to the group.Like all the others before me have said,it all depends on your constitution and no two people are the same when it comes to medicines and their effects. My doc actually started off with a follicular study, followed by what they call Clomid(letrazol is used in india) and she said if this dint work out,she would give me an FSH injection and if that dint work out either, she suggested the laproscopic procedure to puncture the cysts. This was the line of treatment laid out for me but luckily i dint have to go that far.I guess your doc would have planned a line of treatment suitable to your situation and im sure your test would give you a sense of direction as to what to do next.Hang in there and be positive.

Avantika - So what did you do about the hair shedding.Did it reduce once you stopped Femcon?Do let me know.Im facing the same problem and im in dilemma as to whether i should bring it to the docs notice.Ive just completed two packs.I guess every bcp has some adverse effect or the other so im guessing we just have to weigh the pros and cons and decide which one works for us.

Anjali- hope things work out for you this time and best of luck for your forthcoming surgery.

NDandiwal- actually,i was given glyciphage too which i am thinking helped me out along with letrazol(similar to clomid).Within two weeks of taking that,i actually conceived.I heard the same story from a lot of others too that glyciphage has helped.

Thats all for now.Stay positive and focussed and im sure you will all be blessed in no time.

Best wishes,
Sri.

Sri...I stopped the femcon fe because I had read some forums on homeopathy that bcps make your ovaries go to sleep and so I was trying a natural approach. Intially when I stopped the pills the hair shedding increased a lot but subsided after 2-3 months. Things looked better for a couple of months, but now I have been having pelvic pain and non-stop bleed for the past month and am too tired of it. As you said, should weight the pros and cons of bcp's and am waiting to see my gyn in 2 weeks to see what blood tests she orders and where I stand. Anyone had any similar situation? please advise...you all have been a wonderful support for me.

Avantika,im really sorry to hear what youve been undergoing for the past one month. After the first pack of femcon i had heavy bleeding and it was hard to bear even for 3/4 days.To just imagine that you are suffering for the past one month is just too much.We sometimes cant even get an appointment quick enough so we just have to suffer.I understand what you are going through.I havent had any such experiences yet(perhaps if i decide to stop femcon i might!) so i cant help you out on that.Im pretty sure its nothing so stay calm(i know its easily said that done) and keep us posted about your doctors visit.

hey everyone,
how are you all? hope y'all are having a much better day than yesterday.
Thank you, Tasha, for your offer to listen me rant and rave about my depression means alot to me that there is someone out there who cares even though she doesnt know me..
Avantika, thank you for explaning the milk difference...by the way, about yasmin, i have of course heard good as well as bad things. after having been adding weight for the past 6months since i have been on it, i am now noticing a difference. this is my 7th month, and my pot belly is kinda decreasing by itself...my hair has stopped falling out so much...my diet is the same, semi healthy, and my exercise is the same as well..if anything lesser, because i had gotten discouraged after continuing to add weight. let me wait another week and see if things change again...hope this helps...will keep you updated.
am sorry about the pain that you are suffering through...
Gash, welcome to this forum...it is a great help, i can tell you that much. about the excessive hair issue...which area in particular are you talking about?
well, am still feeling depressed, but its something that has become such a part of my life, that if happiness were to come and kick me in the face, i wouldnt recognise it about marriage, every time i think about it, i get panic attacks, hyperventilating slightly.
i know having someone would help, but that depends on luck, doesnt it? if i got someone who actually made me feel worse...yes, i know, that is a what if...well, will try and work on it...
best luck to everyone, ladies.

Welcome LizaA..... good to see another Korean here! Gash20, welcome! I suffer from excessive facial hair on my upperlip and forehead. I have black hair so it's very noticeable! I have tried waxing, threading, electrolosis and laser hair removal. I am pleased with the results from laser hair removal! It is expensive in comparison to the other treatments, but feel the money is well spent as I have about 70% hair loss after 6 treatments. I don't feel as insecure when talking with people up close. I hope to get a few treatments this winter since my DH and I aren't TTC for the next 3 months. If you decide to try LHR, then be sure to ask them to shave the hair as the treatment is more effective when they directly zap into the roots.

Avantika- thanks for the suggestion of the progesterone cream. I will definately look into it next time. My heart goes out to you also and please keep us posted.

Skyhunter- I hope you feel better soon. When I feel depressed it's easy to wallow because my thoughts are so negative. After I wallow and take time out for myself I get a cup of tea, take out my "count my blessings" journal and write down anything that is positive or good from my day to help me change my thought process or "self-talk". For ex) claiming the beautiful sunset I saw on my drive home, hearing the birds chirp, hanging out with a friend, food, feeling the wind on my face, etc. When I'm done, I end up writing down at least 10-15 things! I constantly need to renew my mind and change my way of thinking because the longer I'm withdrawn... I dig myself into a hole and then it's harder to come out.

Tasha- I hope you'll have a great school year. I'm back at work too and looking forward to getting my routine back.

Anjali77- how are you doing?

Press on Ladies!

Evening ladies!

Skyhunter...we all have these feelings of depression...I am normally a really optimistic and happy person and the PCOS and these hormonal things really make me feel depressed sometimes. Just know that there are others that understand if you ever feel low and sad again...

Avantika...I hope your bleeding is not something too dangerous. When are you going in to check it out? I am here for you if you need any support.

Gash20...Welcome! This small group of ladies is very nice and supportive. Feel free to ask about anything, there is no need to be shy! I hope we can give you the support and friendship you desire.

Tasha...long time no hear. How are you doing? I feel that same about loving being a teacher! lol! Except I am kinda ready for school to start. It gives me time to get into a routine. I agree about thinking over the new organics talks. I guess only time will tell.

Shalini..clomid didn't work for me either like Tasha. I went on it for four months, starting at 50mg to 200mg. It didnt work for me. I moved onto injectables and the shots worked for me.

AFM...I am busy with getting my classroom ready for the first day of school on Tuesday. I am exhausted!

later ladies!
