I had been reading the posts about women getting their BFP on just met and was just wondering if there are any BBW that have gotten theirs just with the met. I am a big girl and looking forward to starting the met hopefully in jan or early feb. and just wanted to know if any of us had that kind of success!!! thanks in advance!!

Great question Tracie. I would also like to know if any BBW have gotten a BFP on met alone. I just started met a couple of weeks ago, and just upped my dose to 1500 yesterday. I'm on CD22, so we'll see what happens this cycle.
Good luck!

I was on 3000mg Metformin and got a BFP in April with twins when I weighed 305lbs
sadly this ended in a late miscarriage but that was nothing to do with my weight
so now trying again, fingers crossed for this 2ww
good luck girls, it can happen!

well it takes a bit more than a month for it to work I'm afraid, with me it took about 9 months in all before my 1st bfp and I've been back on the met for the last 4 months this time
it's not like clomid to make your ovaries work, it works with your body to regulate the hormones to get them working on their own, not a magic cure unfortunately, but its a more gentle way to get things moving
good luck

I am a decent sized girl, size 16 pre-pregnancy, 205lbs and I conceived on Met alone. It took about 5- 6 months after starting 2000mg/day to finally get preggers after trying clomid for 4 cycles and nothing. Alot of bbw women conceieve on just Met, it may just take a lil longer for some than others. Good luck ladies!

I was 245lbs when I got pg with baby#2. I was put on met at the end of July. I got my bfp on November 13 from my October cycle. I was on 1500mg of Met Er for 3 1/2 months, we only actively tried for the last two months. To make it even more of a shocker when I got my bfp, we had only bd ONCE while I was fertile 3 days before I o'd. We were actually trying to avoid that month because dh was in the process of changing jobs. I didn't use preseed or any other assistance. You know what they say about that one cycle you stop thinking about it... It is entirely possible, met is amazing. I know it gives awful side effects, but it was worth it to me. *lots of baby dust to you ladies*
