It is great to find cysters of like faith that understand what I am going through as well. I have prayed many times for healing. In some instances it has worked, but in the case of my clinical depression God has chosen to deliver me THROUGH it instad of from it, for now. It was a hard pill to swallow, but I am learning to follow and rely on him. I will definately be praying for you and your DH and future DS or DD. We should start a prayer thread to help keep track of things. If you could spare some prayers for me for my future husband as well I would appreciate it. I guess more on being patient until God sends him to me, lol.

I am stuggling with depression, too.....so I know how to pray about that issue! We should start a thread! An intercessory prayer chain thread! That would be amazing. I bet we would see God's hand move and bless our situations, that's for sure. Anyone know how to start a group or thread? Go for it! I'll be the first one to sign up.

It seems if we go to a church which is laid back, they have more liberal ideas. If they are conservative they are so big you feel like a number, or they are so formal you feel out of place. What are ya'll's churches like? |

As with every church you feel like something should be done different than what it is! But we have a wonderful Sunday School class which makes it feel like a family. The services aren't huge (about 600 or so a service.)

Points: 5,815.39 Bank: 2,324.14 Total Points: 8,139.53 | We attend a non-demoninational, multi-cultral church that is in the process of growth. We love our church, but it took years of prayer for God to lead us to the perfect "home" for us!
I just recommend trying them out. The old fashioned way. Plus, I always ask for a list of the core beliefs. They are valuable to me, personally.
So many ppl attend their church on a regular basis and have NO IDEA what beliefs their church is founded on, yet they are representing and supporting that church. That has always dumbfounded me!
I do not like mega-churches. I do believe in growth, of course! But the huge, get lost in the crowd scene is just not for me. I will pray you find the place where God would have you! I also encourage ppl to stray from their local neighborhoods! I mean, ppl will go to every length to attend a good paying job....even if it is in another city or across town. I believe church is far more important. Be open-minded to what God has for you and let Him plant you in the perfect place! ~Misty

Points: 2,384.85 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 2,384.85 | I haven't joined a church yet, but I have been attending one for a while. As a single woman in my late 20's it has been hard to find a church that has a ministry that I fit into. The women's ministries were mainly married women that either didn't work, worked part time, or had retired. The college group is just much younger than me now, and usually singles groups were people in their 30's and 40's that were settled in being single and not really looking. The church I have been attending regularly for the past few months is a bit of a mega church, which was really intimidating since I had ot visit by myself, but it is amazing how small it feels when you find a group that you fit into. They have a single groups that is 25 to 30's and we are all looking and hoping to be married. It is the first time I have felt at home in a sinlge ministry and they all discuss what study we will do so everyone has input and it is tailored to what we are all facing. They also have fellowship nights every other Friday and often get together in between. Now that I am involved, the church actually feels smaller than it is. Once I meet someone and start moving toward marriage, I'm sure we will re-evaluate our church and find the one that is best for both of us. That will be a while considering I'm not dating anyone at the moment.

I agree that's it tough to "fit in" when you are in your late 20's and single! You are like too mature for the youth groups....and not associated with the young marrieds! I am 34 now, but I remember just floating for a while in that strange place, until the Lord brought my DH into my life at 27. In the meanwhile, I attended a church that was primarily senior citizens!!!! And I loved it! The ministered to me just as equally as I ministered to them!!! It was beautiful! Anyway, lean on God and He alone will lead you in the right direction. ~Misty

My Mood: Points: 1,688.10 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 1,688.10 | I'm Catholic and I attend a church that was formed from two charismatic communities. It's an amazing family. We have about 600 or so families and we are growing. We have amazing music and lots of praise and worship. But we are also very, very orthodox and faithful to Catholic teaching. What I love most about it is everyone who goes to my church LOVES being Christian. There really aren't the Sunday obligation, let's get this over with kind of attendees - probably b/c my pastor's homilies (sermons) are really long. Most Catholic Sunday Masses are about an hour long. A short Mass at our parish is an hour and a half. But it is just an amazing community which the Lord immensely blessed me with!!
blessings cysters,
Kara

It's nice to see someone from Michigan! I was born and raised there! My father was born and raised in Ypsilanti!
I am actually going there on vacation with my hubby in 3 weeks (well, detroit area) then we will cross the bridge in Port Huron to visit family in Canada!
