My Mood: Points: 53,225.31 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 53,225.31 | brenz i know the feeling. now that the weather is getting warm it seems like something gets in the way of my workouts too. i was going religiously 6 days/wk and now i'm averaging 4 days/wk. i know the school year coming to an end does have a lot to do with it. as soon as school's out i can start going daily without worrying about not having enough time. how's the lil peanut?
melissa you ought to see some great results with the low carbing as well as the walking. i limited myself to 30 carbs/day for the first few months and that was my most significant weight loss. i upped my carb intake when the Met. was making me so sick and now the low carb foods i ate back then make me feel sick to my stomach. i guess my brain is associating those foods with being sick even though Met. was really responsible. i can't stand the smell of tuna anymore and that was one of my staples back then. now i'm eating some fruits and whole grains. i also allow myself small "splurges" every now and then. the weight loss is going slow...5-10lbs/month when i was originally losing 20lbs/month. stick with it chickie- you're doing great!

my weight is still about the same, no real gain to speak of. the lil one is moving around like crazy and i can't help worrying that it will be big by delivery day...the diabetes is what makes me think that, but in reality if the baby was putting on weight already then i would be too right? I'm 21 weeks today and was told that it will start to put on normal weight soon, but also excess if my sugars are way out of control. Oh who knows...its too early for me to worry i think...i'll put it in God's hands.
Hope everyone is doing well.

I am doing great, I have a hubby that loves me, cares for me, even when I am a smart ass. Even with my health problems. I had a small seizure while driving home last night from Speed Racer (I guess all that drifting and colors caused it) I made it home. I didnt have dinner till 11:15pm. I am okay today.Speed Racer was really good. 4 Stars.

One thing I'm not experiencing since going to super low carb/sugar is dizziness. Hopefully that will continue. |

My Mood: Points: 4,906.56 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 4,906.56 | I'm proud to report that I was very good at my first time in a restaurant in over 2 weeks. This is day 16 for me, and I really didn't want to blow it when my sister (and her family) and I took my mother out to eat. My sister lives 2 1/2 hours away so we had to pick an in-between spot to meet. Unfortunately it was a diner that makes their own bread and rolls. Anyway the light menu didn't look very good (I was going to have a salad and protein anyway at supper) so I went with a cheeseburger (no bun) with cottage cheese and a unsweetened raspberry ice tea. Unfortunately they gave me french fries with the burger, but I didn't eat the french fries! Instead I gave them all to my sister to take home. The cottage cheese was pretty bad and I only had a couple of bites. I like the smaller curds.
This diner also makes homemade pies. My mother had a maple cream pie (which I knew she would do) but I brought my Hershey's dark chocolate stick with me for my dessert. It's only 60 calories and 7 grams of carbs per stick. Granted, the sticks are really, really tiny but at least I get a taste of chocolate. It's my one treat and I savor every bite!
So even though I went out to eat today, I still stayed under 20 grams of carbs today (thanks to having to hot tea for my breakfast beverage instead of skim milk).
It was pretty tempting to have a french fry or two when looking at the wonderful food my family was having, but I didn't.
Oh yeah, I walked a little further during my walks this weekend (even though my feet still hurt). I hit the 1.5 mile mark today.
I've saved the best for last...My big belly is no longer touching my steering wheel! I know I have a long, long way to go and it won't be easy, but I'm really starting to see results. It's so nice not feeling sluggish and so tired all the time. If my feet could just feel better, there would be no stopping me!
This wonderful site has really given me some good ideas, and so many have inspired me. One thing is for sure...It sure is nice not doing this on my own. |

brenz how cool is it to be able to feel the lil one bouncing around in there? i've always wondered what that feels like. hopefully, it won't be too big for delivery day, but even if it is, i bet you'll love it just the same. by the way, when will you know what "it" is? are you wanting it to be a surprise? i keep almost typing "her" instead of "it," maybe it's cause you have a lil girl in your ticker.
melissa- your belly's shrinking...WOOHOO! great job on the willpower too. i started off with those hershey's dark chocolate sticks too. God bless those things, they're divine!
sunny- hubby's got indigestion eh? i feel for him. my dad makes the very best spaghettie ever. now when he makes it, he puts some sauce aside for me and i bring over my low carb noodles and mix it with that. my son is such a picky eater, but when there's dad's spaghetti he'll eat 2 bowls of it.
how was mother's day everyone? i was telling my son this weekend that mommies should get breakfast in bed on mother's day. he was up before me this morning and he brought me a twinkie. he said, "i couldn't reach the cereal mommy, but you can have one of these, i ate 3 of them!" i thanked him kindly and in my mind i was thinking "THREE OF THEM! oh Lord he's gonna be hyper today." then i made a mental note to start keeping the twinkies next to the doggone cereal!

My Mood: Points: 9,809.95 Bank: 266.01 Total Points: 10,075.95 | Hey Ladies. Long time no talk but I am still around lurking seeing what all you have to say. I am at the same weight. I am 25 now and the pounds just don't fall off like they used to. I bought some diet pills for $1 at the dollar tree the other day. I figure even if it is a psych me out mentally thing it may work. They have apple cider vinegar, vitamin b6,and kelp extract in them. I took one yesterday and my appetite decreased dramatically. I did not take one today and my appetite has been less than normal but increased from yesterday so maybe they are working. Someone thinks so anyways, there were only two bottles left in the store. I am still having problems with Carlos and the stress only makes me want to eat more. I wish I could say it makes me want to excercise more or something good instead of bad. C is on this smoothie making kick which is okay except he wants real sugar no substitutes. His skinny ass can do that and be okay. GRRRRRR. I am really depressed now. I did the weight loss calculator madoodle over on msn's webpage and it told me for me to lose the 150 lbs I need to healthfully that I won't have all the weight lost until 2012. That sucks.

My Mood: Points: 53,225.31 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 53,225.31 | i've heard lots of good things about apple cider vinegar. taking diet pills scares me because i hear they raise blood pressure and mine's already high. so we're supposed to take 4 years to lose 150lbs? jeez, that's too long. i'm wanting to lose 100 in 1 year. i wanna get down to 280 so i can be at a 50lb weight loss and once again, my weight fluctuates between 284-286. but even though my weight isn't coming off as fast as i'd like it to, it feels good to put on clothes i never wear because they're too tight only to find that they are loose or fit perfect! i can finally take the tags off the tie-strap halter i bought 2 years ago. mom texted me to ask if i wanted to go to a lap-band seminar with her. she's not obese by any means, but has heard that it can cure diabetes so she's very interested. she's wondering if it'll get rid of my IR too.

My Mood: Points: 4,906.56 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 4,906.56 | Well today was day 1 of "Get Moving", a program for state employees four the next 8 weeks. You keep track of your steps and add it to a computer program which maps out your activities. You can even get steps for doing other activities like housework and raking.
I was hoping to make 10,000 steps today but I'm just shy. I'm not going to get too down because it was tough walking today with a sore heel. I took a short walk at work and took my usual walk after work.
I'm still eating low carb/low sugar. Not feeling hungry or craving anything. So far it's been pretty easy to stick to. I have all kinds of veggies cut up ahead of time and plan out most of my meals. Still writing everything down in my food/exercise journal.
Even though it's only day 18 I'm still feeling lots of changes. I know it may not look like I've lost much, but I can feel it and that's enough for me right now. It's amazing how much different I feel by having low carbs/low sugar foods.
I hope everyone else is having a good week. |

melissa- are you taking metformin? i felt like i was doing fine with the low carb & sugar until the full dose of met. came. i was so sick! i'm really turned off from those kinds of foods now.
