My Mood: Points: 54,356.90 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 54,356.90 | oh sunny i don't know how you could've managed! there were so many times i had to leave my kindergarteners to make an emergency trip to the bathroom. i always prefer to use my own bathroom, but on many occassions i'd have to blow up a public restroom!
how was everyone's 4th of july? it was very chilly here. ds had a great time and never showed any sign of getting tired in spite of his lack of sleep. we got home really late. he sat on the sofa for all of 5 mins and was out! now it's after noon and he's still asleep. if we ever have to go to the ER again i will make sure they know that the drugs they gave him last time had him awake for more than 36 hrs. yeah his asthma was really bad, but that's just crazy!

Lurissa --- I did manage at 1st. I was such a recluse. Now I am getting better with it (I think). I do carry Amodium AD around. Especially if I know, there is not a bathroom around I am NOT willing to use or going to an event.
Tammie - How was your 4th?

My Mood: Points: 233.71 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 233.71 | My 4th was good. my husband and i went to my parents house and I told mom that i didn't feel like eating the typical hamburgers and hotdogs because i was craving thanksgiving foods...and she made them. I cracked up when i went home because the table was set with chicken(i don't like turkey), dressing, cranberry sauce and everything else that goes with thanksgiving except the pies...she made a strawberry short cake..it was so funny. we went swimming and the neighbors set off fireworks. it was a good day.
i only started met again the beginning of June and I noticed yesterday that i was getting a period. this will be two months in a row..wow, that hasn't happened in years. were you able to keep the strict sbd and teach? i am going to start a new school and have to go the orientation in another week and i the first day of school is the 31st. is sbd very strict?

My Mood: Points: 6,301.48 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 6,301.48 | Wow! I've missed a lot around here lately. Congrats Lurissa on the weight loss! Great job! I'm in the same boat. I have a lot to lose just to be obese. We can do it though...we can all do it! I'm hoping that soon I will be able to try on clothes at a store instead of ordering everything through Lane Bryant's. At this point I have no idea idea what size I am...everything is very loose. Good thing I have elastic pants or they would be down by my ankles.
Sunny - I know what you mean about Metformin. You reminded me why I stopped taking it. I couldn't go anywhere without horrific diarrhea. Luckily I worked close to home. I remembered not being able to go to a family reunion because of the Metformin.
Yesterday was day 70 of my low carb/low sugar lifestyle. I went to a cookout yesterday and was a good girl. I'm a bit surprised at my willpower at this point. Hope it continues. Saw a couple of friends I hadn't seen for a while at the cookout. They commented on my weight loss. I wish I had enough nerve to get on the scale, but I'm just too afraid I'll get too discouraged when I see for myself how much more weight I need to lose. People close to me have said that I've easily lost 50 pounds so far. I hope they're right. My mother gave me some encouragement. Maybe next summer, there will finally be a new me. Maybe next summer I will have a life again. Maybe next summer I'll enter every single walk-a-thon in the area. Maybe next summer I won't be a hermit. Maybe next summer I won't be embarrassed to be in public...
Although I've been very good about eating the right foods, unfortunately I still haven't been consistent about my walks. When I do walk, I'm not as tired or out of breath as before which I'm pleased with. I just can't seem to get myself motivated especially when the weather is warmer. I need a good kick in my big butt to walk every day not just when I feel like it. |

I completely understand what you are saying when you said that next year you wish. I wish that also! I really want to get my weight in order b/c it seems like everything else in my life is ok except this area. I feel really successful except for the weight.
I am googling the sbd book and i think i may go and buy it tomorrow when i grocery shop. i'm still not sure about it yet.
I hope everyone has a great rest of the weekend!

days: 220 days
weeks: 28weeks
Months: 7 months.

My Mood: Points: 54,356.90 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 54,356.90 | prenda what kind of calendar does your school operate on? my summer vacation is half over. first day is aug. 18 but i'll be going back the last week of july to start moving into a different classroom. my parents are visiting my sister in florida the first week of august and i want to go with them even though i recently got back from visiting her. she's my twin and i miss her so much. i'd have to be really ambitious if i wanna make that trip and still have my classroom and lesson plans ready in time.
hey miss melissa! i just wanted to tell you for me, knowing my weight has really helped me strive to improve it. i was really embarrassed of my starting weight. when dbf flat out asked me, i wanted to lie to him but i told him the truth and he was so shocked he was speechless! but now, i'm charting my own progress and it feels good to know how far i've come. so honey, don't be scared of "your number" because it is what it is, and you're working so hard to change it! i've lost 55lbs. i was a size 28 and now i fit into sz 20. before starting this weight loss journey, no one could've ever gotten me to admit my weight or size. but these numbers show my progress and i know they're only temporary.
by the way, what's everyone doing with their clothes? like melissa said, mine are very loose as well. i find myself hanging on to the waistband to keep my pants from falling down. since my boobs are so big, most of my shirts are still ok but my pants are ridiculous! i have "baggy butt" and i've been folding the waistband on my pants to tighten them up. i hate belts so i don't have any. i'm also reluctant to spend money on too many new clothes since i'm still losing weight. i recently got the idea to "tack" my clothes. i think i'm going to try putting a single stitch in the waistband to tighten them up a bit. this ought to work with my skirts, slacks, and capris but it'll probably be a lost cause for my jeans. anyone else try something that worked?

My Mood: Points: 6,301.48 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 6,301.48 | What a day of temptations! As if having two vending machines right next to our door isn't tough enough, plus a candy dish that's always full of candy, but someone had to bring in a chocolate cake with chocolate frosting! Chocolate is my favorite food! I was good and didn't even take a bite although I looked at it while I was warming up my low carb pizza for lunch. I thought smelling toasted bagels was tough (I'm right next to the kitchen!), but the chocolate cake has been the toughest. I hope tomorrow will be easier.
Hey Lurissa - You've got a point. I know I should get on the scale but I'm so scared. I'll definitely think about it. I know my mother has some heavy duty scales. Maybe I'll stop by some day when I'm brave. |

My Mood: Points: 54,356.90 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 54,356.90 | i was able to schedule an appt with the dietician and psych. today. i was told that the this particular dietician doesn't bill to insurance and that i'd have to pay for it out of pocket so i decided to only meet with the psych and i'll have my family dr refer me to a dietician later on this month. i'm just now starting my 6 month waiting period so i guess i don't exactly have to rush.
since i was so successful in making the living room look good, i was feeling very motivated to paint the kitchen. yesterday i go out and pick my colors and buy an 8 ft ladder so that i can reach the ceiling when i paint. as i'm putting the ladder into the trunk of my car, i accidentally knick the tail light with the corner of the ladder and now i have a nice gaping hole in the tail light! i patched it up with tape but the light isn't working so now i have to see about replacing it. i'm scared how much it's gonna cost me...i don't know why it always cost so much money for a lil piece of plastic!
