I see both an ob and an RE now. (Just saw the RE today). They are brothers. My OB is Dr. Chris Ahlering and my RE is Dr. Peter Ahlering. Dr. Peter's website is
www.haveababy.com (you'll have to surf around a bit till you find info on the St Louis location). Dr. Chris is located at St. John's Mercy (if you aren't familiar with STL, look on a map - it's near the intersection of Highway 40/64 and 270, in the Ladue/Des Peres/Creve Couer area) and Dr. Peter is located near there.
I've read in several different sources that Dr. Peter is the best RE in the area.
I also had an appointment with Dr. Kelle Moley at Washington University Med School once - she is an RE who seems to study PCOS and Metformin in detail. I really liked her too, but my DH has white blood cells in his semen, so my OB really wanted him to see Dr. Peter, who specializes in male issues. DH had a hernia surgery a few years ago and Dr. Peter thinks the surgery may have put pressure on his reproductive organs, causing an inflammation which created the white blood cells, affecting the morphology of his semen. Woo! I'm tired from typing all that. Anyway, we don't know if it's an issue per se, because we've gotten PG 3 times, but I keep miscarrying. Today I got blood drawn for immunological factors, and DH is going to get some more detailed testing done to see if they can find the source of the white blood cells. I really was impressed by him and have heard good things about him.
Let me know if you would like their phone numbers and I'll look them up.
May I ask which town you live in? I am pretty familiar with Southern IL after spending so much time there! If you'd rather not say, I understand. Or you can PM me.
Thanks!
