Question Any good fish recipes for non-fish eaters?

I really want to eat more fish since it's so healthy, but DH and I aren't big on fish. I do like shrimp and scallops, and one time tasted a salmon recipe I liked, but never could duplicate myself. Anybody have a good recipe I could try? TIA

I'm not too big on fish myself, but we eat meat EVERY SINGLE NIGHT and with some seafood, it would get boring. But, I digress.... I like pesto sauce on tuna or salmon. I do a very basic salt, pepper, olive oil seasoning of the fish. Cook for 2.5-5 minutes on each side, depending on desired doneness and then top with the pesto sauce.

If you aren't big into eating the fish bare, you could try topping it with sauteed vegetables, like an avacado, corn and tomato mixture. That's pretty tasty on things like tilapia, cod, etc.

If you do like your fish a little more bare, I like to coat it with a bit of brown rice flour (but only because I am gluten-intolerant), season with salt and pepper, cook on the stovetop in olive oil until done. Then sprinkle on FRESH lemon juice and top with capers. Mmm!!

Oh, but my all time favorite is salmon burgers! So tasty! I don't have the recipe in front of me, but will post it later. Basically, you cube the salmon, add chopped walnuts, parsley, and eggs maybe(?). Cook in the oven. Top with a caper mayo sauce. So good!

I like to eat deep-fried catfish nuggets. Just make sure you use whole corn meal and non-hydrogenated or non-partially-hydrogenated oil. And I can't stress decent-quality fish enough. If you have a Schnuck's nearby, I'd get them there. They seem to have them on sale a lot.

Contrary to popular belief, not all fried food will make you fat and unhealty. It's processed, refined carbs that cause high bad cholesterol (LDL) and other nasty health problems (including, but not limited to, diabetes, cancer, heart disease, and obesity). Not fats (like oil, butter and animal fats), meat and eggs or dairy. (I would have a really awesome article to back it up, but I can't find it.) But the average American isn't about to give up their sugary foods, drinks, heavily processed foods and excess calories. Their health be da**ed.

What kind of fish you like? Salted (like salmon), smoked, fried or baked?
Baked and fried fish will make you house smell, so this is the reason many people do not like it.
Smoked fish is good to use in salads. Here is example: take some boiled potatoes, smoked fished (all bones etc must be taken out), boiled eggs, onion (if you like onion). Chop the igridience to small peaces, toss together, cover with mayo, salt and better. Add slice of lemon to the serving so you can squeese some lemon juice to the salad when you start to eat it. Tastes really good!

My family also likes pancakes with fish. Just make pancakes with very little sugar, and instead of jam use sour-creame and canned tuna for the filling. Tastes good!

Baked fish or Grilled Fish is my favorite! What I ususally do is make tin foil packets and put my fish in the middle...I usually use salmon, tilapia, or whiting filets. I shake on some Lawry's Seasoning Salt, Garlic Powder, Pepper, and add a couple of splashes of lemon juice and some seasoning mix(I get the frozen bag it has onions, celery, red&green bell pepper in it) add a little to the fish and a teaspoon of butter on top. Fold it all up into a packet and either put it on the grill to cook or put it in the oven to cook.

Another way is to just put your fish in the pan on top of the stove with a little bit of Olive Oil and you can put a little Old Bay Seasoning on it...simple and quick but very tasty and kinda has some heat to it.

I just got some of the Lawry's Lemon Pepper the other night and it is really good... Put some of that on some fish and cook it, I bet it would be great...I haven't tried it on fish yet but I bought some tilapia and going to try it on that in another day or two for dinner but the Lemon pepper was great on veggies.

If you have a steamer it would be great for fish. Just put some seasoning on it like Old Bay, Lawry's Lemon Pepper, or any type of seasoning you like and steam it. This is the next kitchen gadget that is on my list to buy is a steamer and I bet fish comes out really good in it!

deb - depends what kinda fish you wan tto use. Honestly... I'm not a huge fish person (it all depend on teh consistancy for me) but comgin from a community that was started by and still has TONS of fisherman (I am from an island), Fish is a statple to many. So.. it depends what you wan tto use. I got lotsa recipes or ideas although I dont much like touchign raw fish so I dont cook it too often (its somehitng i order out a lot).
