Default Any good skin care systems for Rosacea?

I went to the Dermotologist today and was diagnosed with Rosacea. He gave me a prescription for a Metronidazole cream which I have to apply twice a day.

I was wondering if anyone else with Rosacea has a good skin care system that they use?

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Azalaic Acid, aka Finacia, is great for it, knocks the redness right out and calms the inflammation

I don't know how helpful this is gonna be, but I saw a skin care system at a place called Ulta Cosmetics specifically for roseacea. I also saw the same system at Sephora. Gosh, I wish I could remember the name.....but I can't. Maybe if you have one of these stores in your area you could ask one of the salespeople.

Thanks for the quick replys, girls!

Cec414 - I checked out the website for that product. Unfortunetly, its a topical cream also. From the looks of it, you should only use 1 of the topical creams. I am getting the Metronidazole as a cream, although I did see they have pills also. My Derm prescribed me the cream, so I suppose I should try that out first and see how it goes.

joanne23 - I actually checked out Sephora! hehe. Its funny you brought that up. I saw a few things of interest there. I live in Boston, so I plan to go down to the Pru (thats the mall here) and check out the options they have there. My friend has Rosasea also and she bought a few things from Sephora, but didnt have much luck with them. Like the powder brush. Her Rosacea is much more serious than mine though.

I am still in the minor to moderate phases. I have permanent redness, but I dont generally have many bumps or pimples from it. I am starting to get skin thickening on my nose though, which concerns me.

I was just hoping some of the cycsters who have it would have great stuff they love! I saw a few posts from searching from others that have it. However, I never saw anyone post their skin care regimine.

I am doing a spa day in a week and a half. Maybe they will have some suggestions. They are always trying to push products!

Thanks again for the advice and comments.

I am actually using Azelaic Acid for acne, and taking several other topical meds at once, I just use one at night and one in the morning, that way there are no interactions. Maybe it's different for Roseacea, but I just know my medication is good for it so I thought I tell you about it. I guess your derm. can tell you for sure!!!

I went in to have a dermatologist check me for rosacea and she suggested I had PCOS. I do have mild rosacea with a few bumps on my nose, and a few broken capillaries on my checks and some permanent redness on my checks. My dermatologiest gave me a topical clyndamycin to help calm the rosacea and the folliculitus I get from the stupid neck and chin hairs. She also told me to never walk outside with SPF 30 sunscreen on my face.
