Very cool. Thought I was the only one on this board for a bit. What are your roots? My dad is Salvadoran and mom is Guatemalan. When were you dx'd with PCOS? What are you up to now? Any advice you can tell me about metformin, normal labs, TTC#1 since 12/05? Thx!

I'm latina too! My dad is mexican and my mom is half mexican with some french and irish in her. I was diagnosed this past July, and so far the thing that I'm trying to do is get my self into a comfortable routine to help me lose some weight and keep my PCOS under control.

Hi girls, My dad is puertorrican and my mom caucassian I live in Puerto Rico so I'm BORICUA! Proud latina but I have to admit I don't look anything like J Lo I'm light skinned with green eyes just like my grandma who is even blonde so maybe some spanish roots here...

Puerto Rican and Ecuadorian but MANNN i look whiter than white! Skin that doesn't tan, just burns, and green eyes. I never thought there were any latinas on here either... weird...

Wow...there are a few of us here. Had no idea Kate, the mother of 8, has PCOS!!! I lost a few pounds by cutting out soda (almost completely), eating breakfast as opposed to skipping it, drinking more water and including more veggies on my plates. I have been making excuses about the gym but I know I have to get my butt there one of these days.
Shwag5150: Congrats on losing all those pounds. Maybe you can tell us what you have been doing...

latina in the house. both parents are puertorican. was diagnosed last april. was put on met that day and conceived in july. now i have a healthy baby boy!!! but now i have to get back on my meds cuz things are going crazy again. i started losing weight (before baby) by eating breakfast which i never did, drinking a gallon of water a day, and just walking around the block a few times every night.
Im mexican. Both parents mexican. Same problem here tryng to lose 50 lbs. Tryed all diet pills out there, not good. Only thing that has worked for me at least for a lil bit is working out. Then I hit the plateau/wall so I don't loose anymore weight. Its kind of hard to deal with the mood swings and loosing weight. Anyways. Im hanging in there.
just wanted to say hello! I was born in brooklyn, ny but both my parents are Ecuadorean. I had my daughter a few months ago and am trying to lose some weight too. Lost all the baby weight now i'm just trying to get to a healthy weight. breastfeeding is definitely helping...
