Hi! I was born and have always lived in the States, but my mom is Bolivian and dad is Caucasian. I've been told I look anywhere from Hispanic, Greek, even heard Middle Eastern -- dark hair, brown eyes, olive complexion. I'm thankful I grew up bi-lingual!!

Thought I was the only one on here with Ecuadorian roots. Mom from Ecuador, Dad full blooded German, but grew up here in the states. I think of myself as a half-breed. LOL My Spanish is terrible, pues intiendo casi todo. I seem to be in a phase of gaining and weight shifting right now. So frustrating. DH is very white/american/ heinz 57. It's a shame he doesn't appreciate a little junk in my trunk. Cause Baby, I got it! LOL

I was not diagnosed until I was 33, which is so crazy. Anyway, I always thought that the reason that I had to wax my lip was because I was latina - that we are darker/hairier than the mainstream america. Silly me, it was the pcos all along. LOL My RE told me that it is that certain ethinic groups have a tendency toward endocrine disorders. Although, I do not see that many Latina's on here.

Just wanted to say hi. I'm very new to this site and it feels comfy already. My great grandparents on my dads side are from spain, and my moms parents are a mix of mexican, spain, and indian. Ya, i always thought all of my symptoms were just a part of being latina too.
It's funny though, I get asked about once a week to every two weeks "what are you?" because I have very light skin, jet black hair, freckles and so on. I'm running out of things to tell them (ha ha).

Just wondering, do you all ever just feel so tired and fatigued? I'm on met and yazmine, and sometimes I feel like I can't even open my eyes or lift my arms; does this have anything to do with PCOS? I need energy, help!!

Ok espera, what is vitex? What does this chromium and omega do? I've heard that cinnamon helps with hypothyroid which I have, too, but I have never tried it. Do you take it in a pill form or put extra in your food?

Can I just tell you that my Gringa Feroz MIL noticed that one of my daughters (her granddaughter) is still pretty fuzzy. You know, she has some hair on her back and she is almost 2 years old. She told me the other night that it was because I am hispanic that her granddaughter is hairy. Grrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!! I told her that I was never hairy as a child. She meant it as a slam. Ok, I need to make sure I keep on top of my waxing. LOL Really curious about that vitex. I am also wondering if anyone has taken spironlactone (sp) and what you thought of it.

vitex is a herb that is supposed to help regulate hormones and increase fertility, it also helps with amenorrhea(when u dont have a menstrual cycle) and it comes in capsules its very inexpensive u can get it at a vitamin shop, and cinnamon is supposed to help with the IR and also the chromium they help metabolise insulin better, I read an article that pcos can be trigger by a chromium deficency... and the omega is a very good supplement is supposed to help with the IR and is also very good for cardiovascular health and brain function, I asked my RE about taking vitex but ofcourse as a man of science he really dosent know too much on herbal remedies so he said to go ahead and take it that it wouldnt hurt.. so, so far so good im still waiting on my results to see if there was an actual improvement... but the thing that i notice the most is the facial hair is dissapearing and my face is gettins so clear, last time that i got those results was when he put me on ovcon50 which is a bc that i took it by skipping the placebos so my testosterone level could come down to a normal level so I could start clomid and it work, but sadly i couldnt continue with the clomid cuz my hubby sperm count was low.... so he told me that my next option is an iui, but we r still trying with natural remedies, hubby gonna see urologist to see if he can take anything to improve hes count, so far he takes vitamin w/ minerals the omega and zinc, and its seems that he produses more... anyone had problems with their husbands having low count???

Oh I forgot to tell u about the cinnamon it comes in a pill and the brand I take is called cinnmax it already has chromium in it, but I started taking chromium picolinate along with it cause I think my main problem is the IR to me thats what trigggers all my symptoms, so I think if the cinnamon and chromium have been helping w/ the IR that meens it should be metabolising better and if ur insuling levels go down the testosterone level should come down too, and that should be the cause for the facial hair to dissapear and ur af should come back and o, right??

Default Latina here!

I'm half Costa Rican and half Caucasian. I was dx'd with PCOS 10 years ago. I didn't do anything about it until I wanted to get PG. I finally did and had a beautiful baby boy. We (DH and I) were able to conceive after 150 mg's of Clomid on days 5 - 9 and 2000 mg's MetFormin. I'm TTC again now and just finished my first round of Clomid with 100 mg's. I doubt it will work this time bc of my previous dosage success. However, you never know. I'm really glad to find some Latina Cysters out there. Sometimes I feel like I'm in a world all by myself. Good luck to all of you.
