Hi everyone! I'm Cuban...born in Miami and living in Oklahoma City right now. I have been on this site for hours now and I feel like there are so many women that understand what I'm going through.

I'm going to order the Insulite system at the end of the week. Anyone try it yet?

I'm really glad I found this site!!

Another newbie here! I'm 23, I was diagnosed yesterday, although I've *known* i've had it for about 2 years. I was born in the US, both parents are Mexican, and I've been to Mexico basically every year since I was born.

I've been married for 4 months, and we're ttc #1. My doc said everything was normal with me, except my testosterone is high. So I'm on Metformin and also evening primrose oil, I read that helps with hair loss.

I think it's so hard ttc w/PCOS and being Latina. It seems like NOBODY around me is "trying to get pregnant" - it just happens for them, a lot times "accidentally". It makes me so mad!!

Hi Ladies, I am a Chicana, I was born and raised in California, both my parents are from Jalisco, Mexico. I am also bilingual. To all my cysters who are struggling with weight, I am what would be consisdered a thin cyster, and never had problems with weight until 2005-2006. I began to gain weight shortly after I got married, within 6-8 months I had gained aprox 16 pounds. I began to work out regularly, but the scale did not budge for a long time. Over the next 3 years I continued to work out (ok not always consistently) and aslo watched what I ate. I would lose a pound or two, and then plateu for many months. Recently another cyster recomended I try traditional chinese medicine and use The Infertility Cure by Randine Lewis, Ph.D. as my guidebook. I have been on a fairly strict diet, as well as chinese herbs, and have lost weight and noticed other positive changes in my body. My particular diet consists of no dairy products, no wheat, no sugar, no coffee. I know it sounds tough, but when I looked at what I can eat, it was better, I can eat rice and beans, and salsa, and corn tortillas. I started at 125 lbs, and dropped to 116 in about 6 weeks. I feel healthier, surprisingly have energy despite the no coffee, and my cycles seem to be getting to a more normal range. Don't let my diet scare you away from the book, this diet is based on my patterns based on my symptoms and cycles. Just an FYI for anyone who is intersted. I look forward to getting to know my Latina Cysters

Hi mona,

I was on metformin, but recently stopped it when I began doing the TCM. I never really noticed any positive changes fron the metformin, I may have dropped a pound or two, but that's really it. It did nothing for my crazy long cycles which can be up to 8 or 9 months long. Towards the end I started to notice I would wake up thisrty at night. I did also try clomid and ovidrel, but did not get the results we were after. One of the things I really like about the TCM is that it looks to treat the whole person, rather than just treating the symptom with the same dossage as everyone else with a similar complaint.

Red face HI...heres my story

Hola chicas!! I am Chicana both parents are from Durango MX and DH is from Jalisco. I am bilingual (cant spell) and am very proud to be Latina! Background on me...I was a fairly average weight girl until 18 then went to college and started gaining weight like crazy but just thought it was cause of school/stress. I had been on bc since i was 15 cause of really heavy cycles that lasted 10 days. When I had graduated college I had gained over 60 lbs !!! and no matter what i did i couldnt lose it. So i went on weight watchers and lost about 20 lbs. then i met my DH and we wanted to concieve so i stopped bc while we were dating. nothing happened, no period but no pregnancy either. I found a new doctor and she explained to me what pcos was and tested me. I was 23, and my boyfriend (now DH) went with me. He was supportive from day one. We did weight watchers faithfully and lost 45 lbs. started metformin and had a DD in 2006. But the baby weight has been really hard to lose...we are currently ttc #2 but i have about 20lbs to lose...back on weight watchers and met. Thats me in a nutshell....
