Question Any lupus anticoagulant experts?(lc ment)

I had bloodwork for the thrombophilia panel, etc. and my RE's nurse called and said that all were normal. I asked her to send me a copy of the results so that I could be fully informed. All results say that they are normal except the Lupus (SLE) panel. My results show 187 H and the adult range should be 90-180. This bloodwork was drawn about 2 weeks after my miscarriage, also my beta was still 11 at that time. Could these results explain why I keep having sub-chorionic hemmorhages? Also, I have read that the lupus anticoagulant problem worsens during pregnancy, is that correct? Would my readings have been higher if they had tested me with my betas being higher? Can aspirin and/or heparin fix this for a subsequent pregnancy?

Just a little more background...I had a SCH during my previous pregnancy as well, and stayed on strict bedrest and continued to bleed for 7 weeks and then it finally healed. Thank God I have my miracle DD, and she is turning 2 in 5 days!!!

Thanks so much for your help!!

Heidi - First of all, sorry to hear of your loss. Secondly do you know if they actually performed a Lupus Anticoagulant test (IgG, IgM, IgA)? A circulating lupus anticoagulant is a very common cause for miscarriages and can be treated to help stabilize pregnancies though it will never go away. You should find out if they just did routine coagulation studies like PT/PTT, thrombin time but if they did not do Lupus Anticoagulant, I would request it and/or try to see a specialist like a Hematologist to see what you might be able to do. Good luck!!
