Default Any Make-Up Tips?

Hey girls,
I love this site, there is so much information, I think that I learn more form you guys than any doctor I have seen. I look at it this way...doctors can go to school for however many umpteen years and still never know what it is like to physically carry PCOS around on their shoulders, day in and day out, insecurities and all. which brings me to my problem...weight I somewhat have a grip on, and I know God will help me and DH have a baby no matter what any doctor says. I can pretty much handle what this incessent syndrome hurls my way. But, it cripples me in alot of ways. I am of northwestern european decent and i have really really fair skin. my natural hair color is a light brown but the hair on my face is almost black. It doesn't matter what I do, I cannot cover up the evidence. I wear my hair down all the time, and that makes it really hard to find a job here, especially in the customer service industry. but, I don't have the greatest education so that is probably what I am stuck doing for the rest of my life. I have a hard time going out of the house and being social because everywhere I go people stare, and it is absolutely killing me! I really need someone to recommend a wicked foundation, with really good (but not gaudy) coverage, especially in natural daylight! thank you girls...any ideas will help! God bless all of you

ps: i already suffer through a monotonous morning removal routine, i just want to cover it up !

I'm a blonde with dark facial hair and very fair sensitive skin. This is my routine...

I shave using Kiss My Face shave cream and a Gillette M3 Power Razor.

Then I use Ahava cleansing milk, toner, and moisturizer.

For makeup I use Burt's Bees tinted moisturizer, eyeshadow, and lip shimmer.

Before bed I do the Ahava routine again. (And apply a few dabs of Badger Sleep Balm.)

My face stays soft and smooth all day long...and I never have problems with breakouts.

Hiya,
Thank you so much for replying, it really helps! I know where to get Kiss My Face products, I know where to get Burts Bees, but where on earth do I find your Ahava products? Im in Canada, do you know of any specific well known stores here that may carry the product? Now I am anxious to try! Thank you girl!
ps: Badger Balm? Where on earth can I get that?

I actually get the Ahava products from an EBay store...they cost about half of what they do elsewhere. And I've been very pleased with the service.

EBay Store

This is the official website.

(Oh, and I didn't mention it, but get the Mud Masque also!)

Badger products I buy from drugstore.com.

This is the official site.

Happy shopping and enjoy!

That is awesome, problem is I have access to cash, but I am not an online shopper (for various reasons) which stores carry those lines? I want to go out tonight and get some, I don't care how much it costs, thanks girl!

Both the Ahava site and the Badger site have a "Find A Store" link...try that.

I use Sally Hansen facial hair bleach.

I still pluck the long hairs, but I don't want to shave because it becomes course. BTW, I have almost black hair and I have alot of facial hair. Yep when I bleach it makes me look like santa!! I even have hair on my cheek bones!

Hang in there!

Hi,

I think I know all too well what you're talking about. It can get to be quite depressing when you think of your future, like a job, and the one doubt and insecurity that holds you back is facial hair. It's my biggest insecurity ever. I too wear my hair down everyday and I'm very self consious. I'm also in need of finding something to "cover it up". Can someone tell me where I can find Kiss My Face products?

Thanks so much....you guys are great..really.

Hi ladies,

I was unfortunately born with porcelain white skin (the kind that doesn't tan) and thick dark hair - the dark facial hair shows up really well on my white skin!! I use Sally Hansen facial bleach, too. It's a shame it doesn't come in a larger size - I feel like I'm buying my local drugstore out of it all the time!!!

Now that warmer weather is hopefully coming, I'm worried about the dark hair on my arms, too. I can wear long sleeved shirts to my office job, but I feel like a freak when I wear a T-shirt or other short sleeved shirt. Does anyone else have this problem, and what have they done?? I don't want to begin shaving, because I'm afraid the hair will come back even thicker and coarser.

As for makeup, I use Merle Norman total finish foundation when I have bad acne flair-ups. It's thick, but not overpowering.

I made the mistake of shaving my arms...whoops. I used to wax which worked really well and it didn't grow back fast or real thick like it normally is. I really liked to use Nads for waxing. And when that wasn't available I used Sally Hansens Cold Wax. But I once experimented with the razor on my arms and now its all I do. I don't want to wait for it to grow long enough to start waxing again. Its a never ending cycle.

Unfortunately, you confirmed my suspicion of arm shaving. When I got married, I bleached my arm hair, and was pleased at those results. Of course you could still see it, but only if you really were checking my forearms out! Guess I'll stick with that........maybe I should buy Sally Hansen stock :p ........thanks for the info!!!

When I was 17 I had the hairiest arms you have ever seen. I had heard horror stories about shaving so I opted use a hair removal cream on my arms and over the years surprisingly my hair is thinner and there is alot less of it. So almost 10 years after I started using the stuff(every1-2 weeks) I can say I have no regrets.

As for facial hair I use hair removal cream(less than 5 minutes a week) on that too. I spend a couple days a week doing touch up maintenance(2 minutes max) but it really takes little time at all. As for a foundation I use either Elizabeth Arden or Mac both don't work well in hiding my hair but used in combination with the matching concealers it seems I am the only one that actually knows about my beard.
I found in my experience that the best way in conquering my facial hair problem was trial & error. I hope you find something that works for you.

Thank you for all your stories and advice cysters! It is nice to know that I am not alone in this...it's funny, I see so many of you girls here, and yet in this city of a million people where I live I feel like I am fighting this battle alone. I have done the arm shaving thing too, I have for several years, but it doesn't really bother me too much. It only takes me a couple extra minutes every couple of days, but I don't mind because I have tattoos on my arm and it is usually an attraction all its own in public, so I kind of have to keep it hair free. My skin is fair and super-sensitive so I react to alot of creams and removers. The one I like the best is Nair-Facial Hair Remover...not for my face, but for for the little hair that creeps up on your tummy and chest. It has baby oil in it and it doesn't really react to my skin. As far as Kiss My Face products go, they sell those in most large drug stores and in health food stores too. Thank you for all your advice, I really appreciate it! God bless

I'm in Canada, and I can usually find Kiss My Face products at London Drugs, the health section at Wal Mart, and I know that health food stores carry them too...I saw it first advertised in an American magazine about ten or so years ago but I found it here too! I hope that helps your search!
