Question any natural remedies for anxiety?

Hi I have never really thought about taking natural remedies for pcos, anxiey etc... but nothing else is working so I think I might give it a try. I have social anxiety and I am on a low dose of clonazepam. It seems like a lot of people with pcos have anxiety, and I was wondering if anything has helped any of you with anxiety as far as taking natural drugs, medications. I see a lot of advertisement on the web but don't know where to start. thanks

Ashlea,

I have panic disorder and am generally nervous (I take Paxil but hate it-I have withdrawal symptoms every time I try to wean myself off). Anyway, I find when I take a B-complex vitamin I feel so much better. I like the Women's multi-vitamin that GNC sells (their house brand). It has high doses of all of the B's.

Hi, thanks for your info. I tried paxil a while back but then my dr. said that I might do better on conazepam. It works most of the time but then at times it does not do anything. I will try the vit. B. thanks again!

Bach rescue remedy- do you have that in the US? St John's Wart is recommended for lots of disorders and how about yoga?

brilliant polly!

I was going to suggest the same thing! Bach's Rescue Remedy is what my RE recommended for me a month ago. I found it at Whole Foods Store. My doc also said you can give it to your pets to chill them out. Can't tell you that it worked on my dogs..

I'm back with an even better idea! I took these a year ago and couldn't for the life of me recall what they were named so I didn't mention it....

Yesterday, a coworker was having anxiety issues so I went to our natural food place and bought these again and split the bottle with her. I have taken them two times in the past day and my anxiety has gone away!! So has hers...she went to buy her own bottle.

Did a search to SHOW you what it is.... odd that you can buy this on amazon.com

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...ance&n=3760901

They dissolve under your tongue!

I take high-dose plain inositol (aka: myo-inositol) for anxiety/depression (not for PCOS). I believe fish oil and magnesium/calcium are supposed to help too. Folic acid? That might just be for depression, but they are closely related for me. B-complex would be a good idea. Theanine works well too. Theanine definitely has an effect you will notice, if you take enough.

Another big one is cognitive behavior therapy. That's helped me a lot. I'm afraid people will think I'm stupid. So, I ask myself, how likely is it that this person/people will think I'm stupid and then reject me for it? The answer is always: not very likely. And how likely is it they will reject me if I'm simply friendly? Well, it's not very likely, and if they did maybe there is something wrong with them... So, going through that sort of thought process makes me feel a lot better.

Here is more about inositol:

I'd been a teacher for a while and was close friends with the school psychologist for my district (who also had a private couselling practice) and shared with her my concerns about my social axiety (and bouts with depression, too) and my aversion to taking medication for it, and she said the best natural remedy for anxiety and depression, not to mention stress, is to start a moderately intense exercise regeim and stick with it -- in a matter of weeks these symptoms will diminish. I took her advice and it really works - the chemical changes within the body with increased activity are fantastic! I would also suggest an all-natural diet -- artificial ingredients can have some strange effects on the psyche (especially artificial sweeteners like Sucralose).
