We are vacationing in Nags head this year with my In-laws. I have been searching for attractions/amusement parks/activities in general. But am coming up empty handed. Can anyone help?

I lived in VA beach for several years, and it has been a few years since I've been back, but I did spend a LOT of time in Nags Head. It's absolutely beautiful, and you'll love it, but not a lot in the way of amusement parks or that sort of thing, if you're looking for something to entertain children. There are quite a few different outdoor activities that you can do, and companies that will take you on tours, kayaking, etc... There are many attractions, you can go to, the lighthouse at Cape Hatteras, although I doubt you'd want to climb to the top with a baby. Ocracoke is a tiny little island that you need a ferry to get to. It is rumored that Black Beard's treasure is buried there, and it's a neat little place to go to. There is the museum at Kitty Hawk. Sand Dunes to play on. An outlet mall. It's a really fun place, but I'm not sure what there is that would entertain a little one, sorry.
If you want to go farther on up to Va Beach, about an hour and a half, give or take, there are marine science museums, smaller amusement parks, etc...
Good luck with planning your vacation. It's a beautiful place and you will love it.

I can't help you at all. this question just reminded me of a guy i dated many moons ago. i was *this close* to marrying him and his dream was to be married on the beach at nags head. i was open to that, but never having been there i wasn't totally sold. at any rate, we didn't get married and i'm so glad because he turned into a totally different person shortly thereafter.

but, i hope you have a lovely vacation there! he spoke so highly of the place!

I used to vacation there when I was a child so my perspective is from a child's point of view, but I loved it!!!! I live near the beach now but I thought the Outer Banks were really pretty with all the dunes and it's very chill there. I know they have the Wright Brothers Museum, lot's of putt putt, and Cape Hatteras is nice to go visit as well. I am sure they have a chamber of commerce in the vicinity and the local towns like Duck and Kill Devil Hills(such a nice name right?) Have fun and I am so jealous!!!
