Hi girls,
Just wondering if there are any more PCOS women out there with natural regular 28day(or so) cycles?? I am a very regular cycster as well..and for that reason my Dr. says I don't have PCOS...and that I was wrongly diagnosed because of my major weight problem..I do have other symptoms (thinning hair, dandruff...) and other symptoms are extremely mild , but I think I do have PCOS...I have been TTC for 22 months after my m/c...I was told that I have a weak ovulation..and am going to see if there is any blockage w/ an HSG.....
What have been your problems (if any) TTC with being regular?
What are your other symptoms? or any other info would be great!
thanks,
rani

Hi there,
I can be "regular" if I'm eating healthy and exercising regularing. I've never been 28 days, but 30-35 days has happened.
i know other symptoms are acne, elevated testosterone levels, fatigue....well, that's all i can think of right now. BUt i think you are on the right track getting an HSG. That will give you some more answers. I've had it done twice.

I have regular periods. We have been TTC for 2 years now. You can have regular periods and still have PCOS. Not having regular ones is just one side effect that you can have from PCOS. Not all women have every effect that comes from this crazy PCOS. I will be buying an ovulation kit this weekend. Hopefully I will find out that I'm ovulating.

I also wanted to add that sometimes woman w/PCOS can seem to be having a period but they may not be ovulating. One way to check is to check your basal body temp in the morning and do some charting of fertility signs. I do it off and on but i will usually have an idea of what's going on.

i have my cycle every month from between 24-28days, but i have one every month.
the reason i was dx with pcos is because of the ultrasound, and i have a full blown cycle every month which lasts for up to 14days (heavy flow), and then i spot the rest of the month.
plus other symptoms hair,acne,ect

thanks for the reply serenity..my AF lasts only 5-6 days and a normal flow... but I do suffer from unbearable cramps...I am starting to think I have endometriosis..the HSG on 4/7 will answer alot of my questions..I am just scared to get the results.....

sorry your going through so much, my gyn doctor thought i had endometriosis as well because that would explain the periods being regular but painfull, but when they did the tests they found out right away that i didn't.
keep your spirits up, (i know thats easyier said then done).
brightest blessings to you
annie

I have a project for you to look into.
Although endo is a likely issue, andneomyosis sounds more like the big problem.
andneomyosis(sp?) is a form of endo that is in the actual muscle of the uteris.
This is what causes the "bad cramping" you hear so much about.
The reason you don't hear much about it is because the only "official" way to be dx with it is after a hysterectomy and the pathology comes back. If you have a really good GYN, they usually have an idea during a LAP(surgery to find endo)
It is the number one (suspected) reason for spontainious miscarages.
It has also been linked to be a major precurser to uterine cancer.
I do have the links available for this information in my siggy.
Feel free to cross check the information.
My doctor told me after my hysterectomy that is was good timing.
My pathology came back with pre cancer cells. So if left untreated he said I "most likely" would have developed cancer by age 50.
Hi, I have pretty regular cycles, 28-32 days, and I usually ovulate. I charted BBT when I was trying to get pregnant and only one month showed no ovulation. But I suspect that I also had a weak ovulation because it took Clomid for me to get pregnant. I have the symptoms of thinning hair, easy weight gain, facial hair, etc. I initially suspected a thyroid problem and went to an endocrinologist and after thyroid tests came back normal, she did another round of blood tests and diagnosed me with PCOS from those. And a few months ago, my gyno had me do some blood tests because I want to start ttc'ing again soon and confirmed the diagnosis. Have you had any blood work done to check LH/FSH, testosterone levels, etc? I think that can often be a pretty good indication.

Serenity..thanks doll!
Patty..thanks for the reply and the info..I had read about Adenomyosis..I know it said that one can have it and have no symptoms..but I really have none of them except the cramps....it said about heavy flows(no) irregular bleeding(no) blood clots(no) but YOU NEVER KNOW! I will ask my dr. about it...Thanks again!
Jill..thanks for the reply....your son is adorable...I hope clomid does the trick for me!
all the best,
rani

I have regular cycles now, but it wasn't always like that. Perfect O but no luck so far. I am going in for an hsg next month to see if thats the problem.
