I took my femara today. Ugh, I feel like I'm cramping again. There's a slight pressure near my ovaries. Hopefully, it's doing the job.

Hi everyone stumbled on this thread. I've been on the site for a while. One thing I will say is there is light at the end of the tunnel and this site has been helpful from everything to information to support. I was finally diagonosed in early 2001. Went to numerous doctors to figure out why I didn't have a period I would get one maybe once a year and why I had gained over 100lbs in one year despite going to the gym regularly and no real change in diet. The first dr was a wack job who told me if I cut down on eating fried chicken and drinking Kool aid I would lose weight WTH. (never drank kool aid and rarely eat fried chicken) and on it went.
A good friend of mine who was a nurse and noticed the acne, and weight gain said I might have PCOS. I found a GYN who specializes in PCOS and an ENDO who also specializes in PCOS and a good derm. When I first started going to my Endo 2.5 yrs ago my hormones where all over the place, acne weight gain, low vit D, thyroid nodules and pre everything etc so my focus was getting everything normal. Happy to say Vit D is finally in a normal range, as is cholsteral, blood levels, low iron, TSH and I have gotten a normal period every month for the past 20 months. Its been a long hard slog and now I'm focusing on losing the weight and getting back in shape. Its hard since I travel a ton for work and eat out a lot but I've managed to get my levels normalized despite this and lose some weight
3 things I hate about PCOS
Belly weight gain
Acne (My derm is a life saver and I rarely have issues now)
thinning hair (Getting better and I'm fortunate that I get around 12 hairs on my chin that I can pluck)
Meds - synthroid, cinnamon, cup of peppermint tea each day (helps lower testosne), Bioten, 1000mg Calcium with Vit D, 50,000IU vit D once a week, prenatal vitamin, iron supplement, fish oil and B complex

Thank you K. Millions for the abbreviations and the answer for TTC (trying to concieve). I know what you mean by that darn AF. She is a wicth. She controls soooo much! The oily skin is horrible....so horribe my DH ask me if I was sweating!! How bad is that? Right now I have committed to absolutely no sugar until my next appontment with my endo which ironcally is on 9/11. I vow to get rid of this belly!!

I sweat on my hands, feet and under my arms. The only time I don't sweat is when I am in AC. I'm not sure if its due to me being overweight or PCOS.

I used to sweat more when I was heavier; I lost about 30lbs and began walking regulary and the sweating didnt occur as often or nearly as profuse as it was before I lost weight. This was the first time ever that I admit to being cold; 30lbs before, I was able to go outside in the dead of winter with a lighter coat or jacket because I felt like a furnace inside. So it looks like some of the key factors to kicking PCOS in the butt are definitely weight loss and building endurance. T
I gained back about 15lbs since, so I'm even sweating as I write this post! LOL!
Thanks for the inputon the "sweat". So I guess I need to get his weight ff huh. By the way, AF came to visit after church today. SURPRISe,SURPRISE,SURPRISE!!!
Also for all of you ladies that are drinking the herbal teas, are you combing them? I purchased the Saw-Palmetto (nasty ugh), Women Liberty, Milk Thistle and Black Chai (yummy).

mzchyll..I aksed my RE about the sweat thing. I have always been a heavy sweater. It really drives me crazy and can be embarassing. If I use the secret ultra (or any of the "super" deodorants) that you put on at night, it's a little better. But the thought of anything that makes me nervous, I'm sweating. My hands can be ice cold, and I'm still sweating. I've even called a few dermatologists about using botox under your arms. It stops you from sweating for about 6 months. I plan on asking the endo/internal med dr about that one.
Renee - girl, you got me cracking up! I love me some bread and rice, but yeah - I did a Daniel fast with my church year before last and lost 15 lbs in 21 days! Only fruits, veggies and whole grains for 21 days, no additives at all - never felt better! I've tried to do it again on my own, but it's sooooo hard - I needed the spiritual accountability to stay on it. Maybe DH will get on it with me since he's trying to lose mega weight to hopefully help his back to start hurting.

Mzchyll and KimberlyMillions: Thank you for the advice. I tend to beat myself up a lot especially when it comes tot he way I look. I mean my friend is just gorgeous!! We've known each other since we were like 4 and so we both went through our awkward phases but he did a 360 and I was like WHOA! When we were small he always pulled my hair and tapped me and ran and silly "boy" stuff like that and I always thought he was a pest. But when we hit our 20's and now that we are 30, I can't help the goosebumps and the butterflies when I see him. It's so so hard to just relax when I feel the way I feel and he looks the way he looks.
Yet, you are right, take the compliment and keep it moving. No reason to question his motives b/c he's watched me transform up until this very day and he's still attentive, caring, and checks in on me from time to time. When we're together, he likes to "hold" me. I admit, I've pushed him away a few times for fear he may "feel" something ugh, but I've stopped b/c he seems to like the "soft and fluffy" even though he's hard and cut.
Hey ladies whats goin on yeah AF is kickin my butt, i noticed its heavier this cycle than the last one but i cant complain. I went and got some castor oil to sooth the cramping by leting is seeks down into my skin. Someone mentioned sweating!!!! OMG in high school thats all i did was sweat under my arms it was sooooooooooo embarasing it wasnt even funny. It would be raining out side and ill still sweat like crazy. i can say though that my sweating problems have been alot better under control. But i still get cases of sweat syndrome on a weekly basis.
