Hi Ladies,
I just wanted to comment to you all taking herbs. Can you all tell me the improvements that you have noticed? I have seen Saw Palmetto in the store and I hesitated on purchasing it. Looking at Soulfulqween's meds... I am going to research more because I certainly need some help and I'd much rather take a more natural approach.
RLG- I understand!! So many times I have been asked are you preg. or just how many months are you? That along can take a toll on yourself esteem! not to mention the hair growth and lost ! but this is the first step in taking control of your life.
Hi and welcome to all the newbie!!!!
adea-Yes my name means beautiful flower(blosom) Thank you!
loveslady- If you want to change the pics you have to change the avatar!!! @ the user cp

Hi ladies. Today, I am feeling so defeated. I had to go back to my endocrinologist for another blood test. I had a million tests done two days ago and he wanted me to come back in b/c he wanted to test for something called Cushing's Disease. Has anyone reading ever heard of that? So I await those results. Meanwhile, he sat me in his office and closed the door. We all know when the door closes and he sits down and sighs and says, "Well here's the deal..." that it's bad news.
My bad news is along with the PCOS, I have Type 2 Diabetes, Fatty Liver and some genetic predisposition to have a thyroid problem in the future. I just turned 30 for pete's sake! God, I feel like I've been issued a DEATH WARRANT!!
He said that the basic and best form to get these matters under control is absolutely losing weight through diet and exercise and taking the Met. I had been devising a diet and exercise plan before I receive this news this morning and told him about it. He smiled and said that I was on the right track. But I have to admit, when I got to my car, I shed some tears and wished someone could just shoot me like they do sickly, injured horses to put me out of my misery. I start the Met today. He told me to take just one (500mg) with or after dinner for a week, then try to increase weekly. He said he wants me up to four pills a day in about a month. I want to cry right now.
ITS OK TO HAVE A CRY OR 8, LET IT OUT GIRL AND THEN MAKE A DECSION TO TAKE CONTROL OF IT !!! I WAS SUPPOSE TO GO BACK TO WORK AFTER MY NEWS I HAD TO TAKE THE REST OF THE DAY OFF AND CRY AND BE DEPRESSED! KNOW THAT WE ARE HERE FOR YOU!!! AND YOU WILL GET THROUGH IT!! YOU KNOW THAT SISTAHS CAN GET THROUGH ANYTHING AND DO WHAT WE HAVE TO,TO SURVIVE

RL that's hard. Getting test after test can be extremely draining. BUT the best way to get better is ti determine everything and rule out what things are and aren't. Hang in there. You are 30 and you learned what's going on and now you can fight it so that when you are 60, 70 you'll be in good health. Don't consider it a death warrant, you just got told how to save your life. Head up boo...

I love you girls. Thanks. The info just came way to fast. I need a minute to just accept it myself. I am not planning to tell my family members. We're kinda on a Don't Ask Don't Tell type of deal. My mother can't handle it if I tell her. She's had three strokes and I've been HER mother for the past three years. And my father, who has Type One diabetes, is not the most caring and understanding of men. He's old skool and believes heavily in sucking things up and internalizing them. He also has just an ever flowing mean streak in him. He snaps and cusses rather than consoles and calms. If I tell him, he'll only say "I told you so. I saw you headed down that road years ago when you got fat." Heck, he yells at my mom and tells her to "Walk right! Stop slurring your words! You sound drunk!" Gee, can't you feel the love? That is why I appreciate all of you. I don't really have anyone supportive in my corner. I have naggers, instigaters, esteem shooters and people who just don't care surrounding me. But I feel a true family here. I'm gonna go and take a long lunch and get myself together.
RL you're gonna be alright.
Family members...boy oh boy. Sometimes keeping them out of the business is best. If they can't be supportive, I mean what would be the point in telling them?
I am sorry about your mom's health.
You've got plenty of support here...

RL: You hang in there girl. Go ahead and shed the tears because the fight is just beginning. I look at this as a fight and I am determined to win!! I'm glad you found this group because you can always find someone who can relate to your experiences.
SoulfulQween: I would like to regulate my menstrual cycle.. well actually I haven't had one in a few months and am enjoying that right now.
Seriously though, I want to regulate my cycle, decrease the hair growing on my chin and get my hormones back on track.
My son has started football practice recently and I have been working out while he does. The practice is from 6-8pm Mon-Fri. So, I have no excuse what so ever not to exercise. I feel very motivated and in control now that I am working out. I have such a lonnnnnnnnng way to go girls, that at times I feel like I will NEVER lose this weight but I know I can do it.
Most of my encouragement comes from reading those stories on MSN about the people who have lost 100 pounds or more. It is the most inspiring thing ever to see!
I am very glad that I have this channel for support because most of my friends don't understand.
You all have a good weekend!!
