so did you get a hsg done? have you been on metformin? they can even text to see haow many eggs and follicles you are producing each month. Did yo get any of that done. I think you should try clomid too then if you do all of that then unfortunately its the lh. I am not married and wanted a baby(Which people do all the time) they also knew of my lh and they NEVER treated me ugly or rudely. I also am obese and while we all know that is a problem my doctor said she's seen bigger that has babies so she wanted to see what she can do for my situation. It was about me and that is how its suppose to be. I wish I could suggest something for you cause noone should be treated ugly when you are giving them your hard heard money/insurance. Take care and keep looking.
I think you are thinking of Georgia Reproductive Specialists (that's where Dr. Perloe practices). I went to the Atlanta Center for Reproductive Medicine. I saw several of the doctors there. While everyone was kind and polite, I just dont think they were a good match for me. I agree with you wholeheartedly in regards to the weight thing. As soon as a doctor spends too much of my time discussing how much weight I need to loose, I start looking elsewhere. It kills me how they think I really want to be overweight. Such BS.
I am certainly hopeful in regards to my appt at Emory Reproductive Center. Actually, on the first Saturday of each month they have an IVF/Fertility Seminar. After attending one and asking the weight question, I learned that they don't discriminate with the weight issue. They are aware that everyone's fertility story is different and it would to unwise and unfair to rule out IVF simply because of someone's weight. I made an appt immediately to see Dr. Spencer. She is one of the physicians there that is familiar and has done research in PCOS. I will keep you posted on how the appt goes.

I live in Atlanta but I go to an Endocrinologist in Birmingham. His name is Dr. Richard Blackewll and he's been working with fertility issues for a very, very long time. I actually would have screamed if her would have mentioned anything to do with me trying to loose weight as I hear that enough in my day to day relationships. I did however make my own attempts at beating PCOS by combining a few of the home remedies (I found on here) to loose weight and get a normal period (with ovulation)! I found it almost impossible to give up carbs completely so the Atkins diet was a no- go, instead i opted for the Fat Smash (regular) program. It was difficult at first but then I started treating it like a count-down to a new me. Then I started taking the apple cider vinegar and no pop or sugar drinks... so that meant i started to drink only water and those crystal light pour ins. I eat out all the time so i would only get kid portions and TRY not to order fried food. I wouldn't exactly say I like to work out so I make it a minimal task where i would work out on the elipitical machine 3-4 days a week for 30 minutes and stretch. I even started going and getting b12-b6- lipo shots for a while... all this and (DUN DUN DUN DUH) only 20 pounds off in a 6 month period... but it was worth it. I didn't complete all the phases of fat smash and I couldn't pay for the shots most weeks so I guess it was really the low-carb and increased work outs. I have pics to sort of prove it! lol 190 to 170

Let me know how the Emory visit went. I have an appt on Thursday w/the new MD. I had an HSG 2 wks ago and it showed everything was cleared (praise the Lord). I've been on met for abou 3 or so yrs. My Endo here recently upped my dosage to a 1000mg BID. My periods have been regular since I started puberty. Stress would cause me to have them twice in 1 month or they would last 7 days, but I got AF every month. Just on different days. The period pain was unbearable @ times though. I had a laproscopy done 2 yrs ago and my periods are now 3 days long. My present to myself when I turned 30. I wasn't sexually active in highschool or the first 2 yrs of college so I never really tracked my period as long as I had them once a month.let me tell you...if I knew about PCOS and fertility issues when I was in highschool, I would have been sexing then!!!! I'm like this is a cruel joke. But I've fasted, prayed, and cried and I'm not giving up. I'm hoping round 2 is my round.
Loveslady, well B12,b6 and lipo injections were for weightloss. There's a weightloss clinic about one block from my home and they give them along with optional appetite suppressants. I didnt think the pills worked for me so I just continued to occasionally get the shots. The B vitimins just help with energy, fat burning and metabolism the lipo shots were supposed to break down fat. I cant say what exactly worked because I did it in combination with other things.
Everyone -- I have been praying for you all!

Wondering if I can join. I have "lurked" on this site for a while, but now I would like to share a little about myself. I have always had slightly abnormal cycles which were controlled well with birth control pills. After I married in 2005 and went off the pill in 2006, my abnormal cycles returned. I was dx'd with mild PCOS in 2007 and eventually started on Metformin 500mg qd by my OB. My cycles returned to "normal" almost immediately after starting the Metformin---meaning I would have 28-33 day cycles. After 9 months I finally got a BFP in September 2008, only to miscarry at 10 weeks. My OB suggested we wait 1 normal cycle before trying again, prescribed clomid, and upped my metformin to 1000mg. Well we waited the month and before we could start the clomid, I got another BFP in February--only to have my beta levels check and learn that I was going to miscarry this baby as well. They termed my last loss as a chemical pregnancy. SOOOOO.. I am in the process of waiting for this miscarriage to complete itself and then they will start testing to see if they can determine what is causing the miscarriages.
Thanks to all for listening.
