Jddiva!!! Congrats on your blessing.

Ladies I apologize I have not posted in a while ...it's Cympliciti from Chicago. I just finished my M.Ed alot of work but I loved every moment.

Ok I have a question does anyone know of any information on the correlation between the horomones and antibiotics pumped into beef and chicken having an effect on PCOS? I omited beef and chicken from my diet for lent and my period has returned today very painfully after a year absence.

Also, I remembered the same thing happeing last year on the same day(weird, I know) and time I dismissed it last year but this year there is no mistaking my period came 28 days after I stopped eating beef and chicken... any thoughts?

Default What I found on PCOS anf BEEF

What I found on PCOS and horomone residues:

Could hormone residues be involved?

Frederick S. vom Saal1,* Division of Biological Sciences, University of Missouri, 105 Lefevre Hall, Columbia, MO 65211, USA

the estimated reference values used to establish ‘safe’ exposure levels for hormone residues in beef may overestimate background levels in children by as much as 100–200-fold and thus dramatically underestimate risk (Andersson and Skakkebaek, 1999.

Furthermore, women would also be expected to be affected by developmental exposure to xenobiotic hormones; studies relating maternal beef consumption to daughters' incidence of PCOS, age at adrenarch/menarche and post-natal growth rate would be predicted to show a significant relationship. On the basis of the shift in focus regarding the molecular mechanisms by which xenobiotic hormonally active chemicals can disrupt development at very low doses, and the advances in analytical techniques over the last 20 years, the risks associated with exposure during development to hormonal residues in beef should be revisited by JECFA and other regulatory bodies.

Hello Ladies,

I'm taking a little break so I decided to check in. It's been a month now since my cyst removal surgery and I've lost about 6lbs since. I'm trying to keep it off and drop a few more. My dr. said the cyst was huge about 8in or so. He also informed me that when he went in he could see that my left ovary was NOT polycystic. On the right side though, the side they operated on, the fallopian tube was really stretched out from growing around the cyst so with that side we're just gonna see what happens. But I was so HAPPY to at least hear that the left side was NOT polycystic. I've been trying my best to keep up with excercise, stay away from the processed foods, and move more toward natural and organic foods. I've been doing okay so far . How has everyone else been???

Tiki06,

That is GREAT news about your left ovary! It also sounds like you are going a great job with the weight loss. I noticed you are in the MD/DC area; I'm in Texas but I graduated from Howard U.
Things for me are slow going. I have another blood level draw tomorrow as we are checking to see if all the HCG is out of my system. (I recently miscarried). If I am back down to zero, then my MD will schedule testing to see if he can find a reason for my losses. We will see what happens. Anyway, congrats again!

Awwe, I hope they figure out the cause. Thanks! I'm definitely working to keep the weight off and be healthy. I've only been in the DMV for about 2.5 years now but I like it. I think I'll be here for a while. After getting more control of my weight, my next goal is laser hair removal, ASAP!

Hey Girls!

Just checking in. I had an appt with my new RE on April 28th. All went well. I have to have a sonohystogram and a HSG done within the next couple of weeks. And a follow up at the end of the month. We'll see how that goes...

On another note...to any ladies in the Atlanta area:

I am having a PCOS Potluck Brunch at my house on Saturday, April 18th. It will give us the opportunity to come together and share our PCOS experiences. We all want to learn and grow and explore and understand some of these challenges so that we can learn to respond to them differently...a different perspective can sometimes bring new life to a situation.

This will be a time to gather as friends and just talk, play some games, lounge, just live within this moment and enjoy life together. We will share food and drinks and laughter and fun.

If you are interested in further details, please let me know.
