Default Any thin cysters out there who use D-chiro-inositol to ovulate?

Hello, I'm TTC and on my 3rd cycle of clomid did not ovulate (1st 2 did produce O; also on 1500 mg metformin). When I figured out I didn't ovulate 6 days ago (finally started checking temps and they were way to low for post-ovulation) I started using carob powder and soy lecithin as natural sources of d-chiro-inositol (DCI)/pinitol. I went to my OB today and had an ultrasound to see whats going on. He said my lining is a little thicker so it appears that I have ethier very recently ovulated (had blood tinged cervical mucus 2 days ago as posibile O signal) or my lining is thicker due to PCOS (how inconclusive can that be???). Will get results of a blood test next week to find out definitely. If I O'd naturally (with adding DCI to my diet), I would like to try that for the next cycle instead of clomid.

(Oh yeah, I just figured out today that my temps can vary by ~ 0.7 °F within 5 min if I breathe with my mouth open vs. closed so even though I've been temping for more than a week now, the temps won't help me determine if I O'd 2 days ago. I guess on to vaginal temping as I frequently sleep with my mouth open.)

Has DCI/pinitol worked for anyone else? If so, how are you taking it - from food sources and/or pills? What dose are you taking? How long did it take to work?

thanks!
