I am scheduled to have the Essure permanent birth control procedure next Tuesday, and to have the procedure, I have to be on cd 5-15. I scheduled the procedure based on my last couple of cycles, which were 33 days in length. And this is the second time that I've scheduled it, because the last time, AF came too early.
But with the gift of PCOS comes the gift of screwy cycles...sigh. I'm now on cd 36, with no sign of AF. I've been having some mild cramping for days, but I don't know if that's just my mind playing tricks on me because I want AF so badly!
I will have to cancel the appointment by this time tomorrow if I don't get AF. So does anyone know of any natural ways to bring a late AF on?
Thanks, ladies!

A friend of mine with pcos is having essure next month, and the doctor wasn't too concerned about her irregular cycles. When she asked about it, the nurse checked with the doctor, and he was okay as long as she had a period within the previous 45 days. The practice has been doing essure for 5 years or so and the nurse wasn't concerned either according to my gf when she asked her about taking bcp in order to have a regular cycle.
Since they do want you to have it done on cd 5-15, and you need to plan for it, why don't you go ahead and do a cycle of bcp for this next month if you have to reschedule it? If your cycle didn't kick in, but I hope it did!
I haven't had a period since November 2008 and it's really bugging me. Every month I'm hopeful, but nothing.

Thanks for your replies, ladies! I ended up calling to cancel the appointment, but since my OBGYN was on call, the scheduler called him to see what to do. He said that since my dh and I had been abstaining like we were instructed to do (for two weeks before the procedure), he could still try it.
So lo and behold, after I found that out, I started spotting! And then started a light AF, so it turns out that the day of the procedure will be cd 5. Go figure! I was going to talk to him about doing a cycle of BCP to regulate if it didn't work out this cycle, but he pulled me off BCP over a year ago because of my high bp, so I didn't know if he'd go for it.
Thank you again for your replies!
