Default Any way to increase FSH or decrease LH w/o meds?

Just curious if there is anything out there. My LH is VERY high and my FSH is VERY low. I don't want to take vitex because it can make the LH worse. Is there anything out there that will increase or decrease the levels that need adjusting?

Not that I have ever come across.

But low FSH means your ovarian reserve is good. So yay! You've got good eggs. But boo! Your ovaries ain't gonna give 'em up.

Stupid ovaries.

Stupid PCOS.

Wow I'd love to know the answer to this too!

When I got tested my LH to FSH ratio was 4:1. I do ovulate and I'm wondering if my got tested during an LH surge.

IFBPreachersWife - I was wondering if you ovulate?

No, I don't ovulate ever that I know of. Fifteen years of charting hasn't shown O without meds (clomid + injectibles + IUI) I can't use opks either because I always get some sort of line and have gotten many false + It's very frustrating!

Have you tried black cohosh? I haven't yet, but was thinking about it as my LH:FSH is 3:1.

licorice and peony are both helpful in lowering the LH and they also lower Testosterone.

There is and article postet by Kat here .a natrupathic aproach to pcos ..or sth like that
my LH and FSH was 1:1 on day 3 of my cycle ...don't know what happened the second time I went for blood test on day 32 my LH was 13 and FSH 4.
the only thing I took was vitex tincture not on a regular basis tho.

I'm trying licorice tea now so I let you know if it works

It doesnt taste bad,a bit sweet
one thing peoplr who have high blood pressure should use licorice.
about the effectiveness I know for sure that it decrease androgen but for LH I jsut read in the article.
I'm not sure if the tea is strong enough you can by in pill forms too but as I said you have to be careful with blood pressure.

Anything that lowers Insulin > testosterone > boost estrogen = lower LH and increase FSH

Vitex doesn't actually cause imbalances, it works to balance out your pituitary gland which sends "messages" to your other endocrine glands/organs, ie. our ovaries. Everything I've ever read in regards to naturopathic medicine and PCOS promotes Vitex especially when western medicinal routes are not desired.
FSH/LH should be relatively equal to each other EXCEPT during the lead up to ovulation, which is why most of us have an unequal balance, because our bodies are not balanced, therefore we typically have to much LH, which isn't produced unless other things are telling it to.
Vitex would actually help an Fsh/Lh imbalance, not hinder, because it is a natural tonic for the pituitary gland, which in essence is very much the control center for hormones.
If you have read that it "increases" Lh, it only increases it when it is appropriate to do so, to trigger ovulation. HTH, and there are many different resources in regards to VITEX on the web. Susun Weed writes a very good synopsis on it.

ok so for those who are taking licorice tea.
I've been drinking licorice tea for 2 weeks and just recently noticed I couldnt sleep at night.
does anybody els have this problem with it?
I heard that you only need to take it for coupleof days, have a break then start it again.
I didnt use it last night and I slept like a baby.
