Celexa AND Zoloft? Is that safe?
Celexa seemed to work well for me for a short while and then I started to get more depressed also. An explaination for this is that Serotonin and dopamine have a a teeter taw relationship. So if you increase Serotonin over a long period of time - you are decreasing dopamine. Therefore adding another serotonin drug might not be a good idea on your doctors part, but it just depends on your individual brain. Good luck and keep us updated.

I have been on numerous anti-depressants over the last 10 years. Prozac, Lexapro and now Zoloft. Currently, I'm taking Zoloft 50mg for my depression and let me tell you...it's worked the best of any of the meds so far. It still allows me to get emotional but not super depressed like I used to. Best of luck...I think you'll do fine on it!

I was on Zoloft for about three months, and it didn't really work for me! But that being said, I didn't have any yucky side effects or anything. My grandpa was on it for years, it worked amazingly for him. (It's a family thing!)

I took Zoloft for a few years and loved it. I never had any problems with it when I took it. I was able stop taking antidepressants about 1.5 years ago and have been fine every since. This coming from someone who was clinically depressed from the age of 13 and never received treatment until I was almost 30.

I tried Zoloft a few months ago as a supplement to my Wellbutrin for depression/anxiety. It didn't work out for me [orgasms became a highly theoretical topic, and I felt like a space cadet]. But everyone's different, and sometimes you just have to try stuff to see what works. I'm now on Wellbutrin and Lexapro and things are okay.

Zoloft doesn't work for everyone or everything.

My Mother took it after my Father passed away and it made her into a different person. She got very nasty and demanding and it made her unable to control her impulses.

I believe it caused problems for her because she was grieving rather than depressed and she should not have been given Zoloft at all.
