Default Anybody used herbs or vitamins for sperm count and it worked?

Has anyone put dh on any herbs or vitamins for sperm count or motility and it worked. Also has anyone gotten pregnant using natural remedies only and what did you use?

I know that some prenatal vitamins are taken both my men and women and for men, they are supposed to make the sperm healthier or something like that..There is also some stuff at GNC called Fertility Blend for males. I think that is supposed to help as well. Did ur DH have a low sperm count?

My DH's sperm count was borderline (around 20 million) and I convinced him to take zinc and vitamin c. In a few months his count increased to 65 million. Good luck, caroline

Rapunzel,
No he didnt have a low count, I dont guess, we havent had one done. It's just that all my tests came back ok except for the pcos, and now since those fears have no justification then I have turned my fears and paranoias to his sperm. I was just wondering about it. But there is good news. I went to my obgyn today and he said that since dh was uncomfotable doing the S/A that we could have sex and come in and do a post coital exam to see if there are live sperm in me. So that is a better solution for us, plus he said that it is extremely rare that there wouldnt be any sperm there, not to worry about it, and if there wasnt we can fix it. But you know what all this can do to a woman's head. I had heard that zinc was supposed to be a big sperm count booster, and I am goingt to start him on it.
CAROLINEJ-That is really great that it helped your dear husband. I am really happy about that. I guess I just needed to read some sucess stories.
We go tuesday for the post coital test. Keep your fingers crossed please!
Melissa

Hi Melissa, my friend bought me a great book 'Natural Solutions to Infertility' by Marilyn Glenville. She deals with PCOS and sperm count issues. My friend's SIL had been TTC for 10 years and was told she would never get pg (severe PCOS and endo). She followed the 4 month plan in the book along with DH (there are rules for him too) and got pg almost immediately. She has just got pg again after following the plan a second time. I didn't follow the plan so religiously and had hormone treatment too (the author says her ideas will help IVF / other fertility treatments) but DH and I tried to take some of the supp she sugg and to inc wholegrains and fresh foods whenever possible. I also sprinkled linseeds on my food everyday and I really think all of this helped. Good luck, Caroline

From what I've read (and it's not a lot), anything that helps constitutionally will help sperm count - such as a good detoxification program and a whole foods diet. And, he will probably have to stick to it for several months for results. I also agree with the others that vitamins for men is a great idea - just make sure they're not full of junk (like yeast and starch and all that other stuff that comes in most vitamins) - get him something as natural as possible from a health food store.

My two cents, for what it's worth!!!
