I haven't gained any weight on Yasmin. The first two months I actually lost 10 pounds and then I started Weight Watchers and I have since lost 22 more pounds. I changed my eating habits and started exercising more. I am also taking Spiro. I do know that weight gain is a concern people have when starting BCP. I would talk to your doctor or a nutritionist to get some ideas on the weight gain.

I gained weight when I was on Yasmin. I went off it after that. Talk to your DR. Everyones body reacts different. Have you switched any other meds lately?

I don't think ive switched any meds. I'm trying to deal with two diseases at once and I think I should work on getting my IBS under control before I start working on my PCOS

I am on Yaz right now. Just started it. The last time I took bc (I cant remember which one, we are talking about ten years ago LOL. Yes I have had trouble for ten years now!) it made the bleeding (that wouldnt stop and was extreme) even worse! I took myself off of that after a month (following the dr advice allow meds a month to work) and informed my current gyno about that trouble. She said "call me immediately if that happens" but you know what? The first day (probably due to coincidence but I dunno) I took the pill at 9:30 pm (I'm a night shift gal anyway) and waited half scared to death that it would do like last time but I stopped bleeding within a few hours! Then again I had been bleeding for a year and a half straight prior to that (and I started Yaz three days ago!) and so far I am period free and the pain is starting to subside (you can imagine how swollen I was after bleeding that long, the gyno was shocked when she checked me) but it works! I am still semiskeptical and skittish about jumping for joy 100% since it could have been a fluke, but we shall see how things go in a month when its had time to build a good level in my system and I have had to take the placebo pills.... However, (sorry that was a bit off topic) as far as weight gain, I have lost ten pounds since starting the metformin twice daily but again, I dont think I have been on the yaz long enough to say whether or not I have lost in spite of it or if it will cancel out the met. weight loss. We shall see and good luck to you!
