Anyone been to the fertility clinic at Royal Alexandra Hospital?
Hi,
I am new to Soul Cysters and I was wondering if anyone has been to the Fertility Clinic at Royal Alexandra Hospital in Edmonton. I would love to hear about your experiences. I am to see Dr. Mortan at the end of March. I am 28 and have PCOS. My husband and I have been ttc for about 2.5 years now. I have tried clomid at 50 and 100mg doses and did not ovulate. Now I am on metformin 1500mg and clomid 150mg.
Any info anyone could share, would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
I see Dr. Tataryn there, I've only had one appointment so far. I go back next week for a second appointment, we are starting our second round of clomid tomorrow. The nurses are really nice to deal with they are the ones you talk to between appointments.
Wabella- Lol my DH is exactly the same, our Dr. is never on time. You’d think he would get used to it.
Good luck on the 2ww.
I didn't have much of a wait to get into the clinic..I went to see Dr. Tataryn at the HYS and she transferred me to the fertility clinic...It did take a long time to get into see her the first time, my gp's office kept forgetting to send the referral GRRR!
RW - I will give my Dr. office a LOT of credit...they checked not once but TWICE for me that the clinic had my referral. And, my Dr. followed up after I had a physical in Dec.
I am torn whether to tell DH that we may be waiting and listen to the complaints for the next two weeks or just wait and listen to the louder (but, shorter) complaints on the day...

Wabella-Who do you dr.with? Is that a picture of your DD she is so cute. Maybe you should wait but bring him a treat . I found that complaining only makes it worse. One time this lady was b#$ching to the rec. and she sent 2 ladies in before she got to go in. The waiting room is nice at the clinic, the chairs are comfy and they have a flat screen.
I see Dr. Algu in Sherwood Park. He is a general GP and I have found him very understanding and not dismissive.
The 2ww is probably (95%) over. I couldn't wait and tested yesterday with a BFN. I'll leave it now and assume a no (the 5% is because it was a bit early - CD10). Feeling OK (even though I am quite sure we nailed it - again - this month) mostly because of the upcoming appointment.
That is my DD. She is ridiculously cute. I love her to distraction and she is amazing. Obviously I have no modesty when it comes to her. It took us two years, one miscarriage and a fertility appointment (we got to cancel though!) to get her. We are working on just under two years for #2 - this time with a PCOS diagnosis.
We are heading to Regina tomorrow (DD and I) for work and a visit with the in-laws. Don't be too jealous!

I wish the threat of an appointment was all it took for me My DH and I have been trying for five years we started Clomid last month nothing happened on 50mg so now I am on 100mg. I know we will get our BFP! I would test again in a couple of days you never know.
Well have fun in Regina, drive careful.
I have been seeing Dr. Sagle at the Women's Regional Fertility Clinic at the Royal Alex for about 5 years. This is where I was first diagnosed and they have been wonderful.
No I have not had IUI's done. I've tried one round of Clomid which resulted in ovulation, but at the same time we received the results that my husbands vasectomy reversal failed - he still has no sperm. (We are doubly challenged). We are now considering ICSI or donor insemenation. We now have an appointment with a psychologist this week to discuss the remaining options.
