Sloan - That's exciting about Oing, but really to bad about your DH. Best of luck to you both.

SoapDiva - which Dr. did you see?

Sorry so MIA. The trip to Regina was good but DD brought back a cold that has turned into an ear infection (her first!). That and it is amazing how messy a house can get when no one is in it - it has taken me all week to catch up to a point that I am not grossed out when I walk around! DH had it to himself for two days (which of course meant that he really just put his dishes away...what would you do with the house to yourself for two evenings???) and then he was gone for a day before we came back. I swear the cat created the clutter I came home to...

Well...the appointment is on Monday! I had to call and pre-register today. It was a bit odd because she basically had all of the information and really I just confirmed everything. I expected more personal questions so I had found an empty office with a door to make the call at work.

OK, it is WAY passed my bedtime and I am expecting DD to get up sometime tonight when the Tylenol wears off...

Wabella- Glad the trip went well, sorry to hear about DD. Did you tell your DH about the wait? We had an appointment on the 28 and suprisingly we didn't have much of a wait at all, hopefully this will be the case for you. The Dr. started me on met. she started me out at 500mg and then increased to 1000mg after a week I have had a bit of stomache trouble but nothing to bad. Did you test again? You will have to tell us how your appointment went.

It was Dr.Motan, my OBNGYN, who is the BEST in the universe, Dr.Boulton, Cheif of Obs at the Grey Nuns, referred me to him, but as soon as I got pregnant, I continued with Dr.B. He helped me with my first babe and all the complications.

I was going to see him after my 2nd was born to get the PCOS straightened out, but we moved across the country.

I have been meaning to post...sorry...

The appt was GREAT. The wait was minimal, the nurse was lovely and Dr. Cummings is just what my DH and I needed. So much so that my DH said "he is the kind of Dr I would be if I was a Dr." I found him understanding and yet not overly gentle/kind. Best of all, he is ON this. I had more vials of blood taken than I thought possible (although it apparently wasn't that much blood) - he ordered every test on the requisition and a few besides. It just so happened that AF started the day before my appt so they arranged the HSG for this past week. The HSG (x-ray done while dye is injected into the uterus to look at shape, blockage of the fallopian tubes...etc) was WAY less traumatic than reading the handout about the HSG. So, we are set for the next appt March 10. DH needs to go and get some blood work done too but, it is just typing so...his deadline is end of this coming week.

All in all, positive experience so far.

SoapDiva - so interesting to hear that you got pg after the HSG, I am holding out a teeny bit more hope for this month!

Hello!

I just wanted to post- I see Dr. Cummings at the RAH Endocrine and Fertility clinic. He was WONDERFUL - pretty much all the doctors there are absolutly amazing!

We started seeing them November of 2007 and by June 2008 we were pregnant, with triplets - LOL, we did loose one of the babies, but I gave birth to my twins at the beginning of Jan 2009.

Always expect your appointments to be late - anywhere from 15min to a hour. When there are IUIs going on, they get the preference over you - LOL! Sperm is time sensitive - when it is your time - you will be more understanding!

If you have any questions let me know!!!

Jenn

x-post

Hey there, sorry this post is so late...I don't get on here often these days. I do see there is time before you appointment still!

I just wanted to share my experience at the clinic in Edmonton. I also see Dr Motan. I just love him he is great. We first went there in summer of 06 after my DH was dx with a male factor (I do have pcos) Our first appt was basically talking about what tests we needed to do and possible treatments. He also did a tvu and a pap for me.

Our course of treatment ended up being clomid/trigger/iui. My cycles were monitored by tvu. I did get pregnant on our first cycle but the pregnancy ended up being non-viable. As bad as that experience was Dr M and the nurses at the clinic were wonderful. I couldn't have asked for better people to get me through that.

After my "recovery" time we did our second clomid cycle. It was bfn but Dr M had noticed my lining was just barely acceptable and suggested it was due to clomid and maybe we should move on for the next cycle.

Our third iui was with gonal f and iui. That was the winner. My DS is now 16 months and I have recently (Jan) seen dr M about ttc#2. I got back on metformin had another hsg dh another s/a and we are a go to start treatment whenever we are ready.

If you have any specific questions please let me know!
