Hi,
I'm on Alesse, and I take it for 6 weeks at a time instead of 3, then one off. I've been on it quite a few months, maybe 7 or 8. Anyway, I'm just past the 3 week mark again and it seems like the past couple of days, my body is rebelling and trying to have a period. It's not so much blood as sloughing off of tissue or something....not enough to have to use a pad or anything (sorry), but I notice it when I use the washroom.
I was on antibiotics at the end of my last cycle, which I know can effect the pill, so I'm wondering if it just messed with my hormone levels and could still be effecting it. Or if I just need a higher dose pill. Don't think this could relate to being pg and it's likely endometrial lining shedding, and I use more than one form of bc. I don't have periods when I'm not on bc. I am definitely not ttc. Anyone have anything similar happen?

-29 year old female, dx 2005, symptoms ~10 years
-High testosterone, cortisol, aldosterone, androstenedione, free androgen index, no apparent insulin resistance however
-off all hormone meds since having pulmonary embolism in August 2009
-Main symptoms: weight gain (especially annoying in mid-section/abdomen), high androgens, very low progesterone, no periods unless on OC
-fortunate to have very good bp, blood sugar, cholesterol, etc., no hirsutism.
