Default anyone diagnosed while on BCP?

K so my doctor agreed that testosterone was still to high even while on BCP's but she basically said she can't/won't diagnose me because 1. If I had cysts they would be gone b/c of the bcp's... 2. She wouldn't want to ask me to get off BCP's just for a diagnosis....3. And if I had irregular periods those could also be masked. (from age 10-16 perfectly regular, tho maybe a lil heavy, age 16- present on BCP's)

I do have IR and all the other symptoms though. I'm thinking the BCP's would also mess up my LH and FSH rreadings...I believe mine were LH: 7 and FSH: 4....And my new endo said that she doesn't even use the LH and FSH because that's a "soft" diagnosis or something...? whatever that means.

So has anyone else out there had a diagnosis while being on BCP's?

Default

I was actually diagnosed in between taking the pill. I was on birth control for about 6 months or so and I couldn't find one that I was happy with, so I went off of them. Then things started going full force. I gained roughly 20 pounds, started getting skin tags, and acne. I went to the gyno and he did some blood work and a transvaginal ultrasound. He then put me on another kind of birth control until we found out the results. He called me two days later and said he was 100% certain I had PCOS. So, in a nut shell, I guess my answer is yes.
