I had the course for my first, but got pre-e and delivered at 32 weeks via emergency C section (she was too small to attempt the natural birth I wanted)
BUT I'm trying again. Anyone else using this method?

Hi, I just signed up for the Hypnobirthing course my Dr suggested. I hadn't heard of it before though. Seems like it works well for most women.

I'm actually looking into Hypnobirthing and classes myself, if I can figure out a way to make it work. I'm really excited about the idea.
An old friend of mine just had her first baby and used the Hypnobirthing method to have an absolutely *beautiful* home, water birth. She's such a huge proponent of the method that she posted a slide show of photos chronicling her 17hr labor and I was just blown away.

I am doing the hypnobabies course now...I've gotten a little off track the last week since we just bought and moved into a new house...but I do like it so far.

For those that are reading the responses, hypnoBIRTHING and hypnoBABIES are two different programs. Essentially they accomplish the same task (relaxation through hypnosis during your birthing time) but they are very different in structure and preparation.
Yes, I'm also doing Hypnobabies. I've been a little off track the last two weeks due to illness but I'm moving on to class 4 now. It really works well for my relaxation NOW and I'm hopeful for birth. I had an induction/epidural/AROM with DD and I don't want to do ANY of that this time.

I used hypnoBIRTHING (by Marie Mongan) for my second pregnancy and I can't say enough good things about it! It was so wonderful to be able to stay relaxed and calm during my sons' labor. When I was driving to the hospital my mom and mil were in the backseat and I could hear them talking saying things like, "She's not in labor" "She's too calm" "She's not having any contractions". When we got to the hospital I was 8 cm! Eli was born 20 minutes later. The contractions didn't 'hurt' until I was pushing him out and by then you're too busy to care.
The best part? I didn't take the class! I just got the book with the CD's and practiced all the exercises at home every night before I went to bed. I'm using the same CD again to prepare for this baby's birth which will hopefully be a homebirth.
