Anyone done 2 Clomid cycles just a few weeks apart?
I had u/s's on CD13 and CD15 and no follie growth was detected, so the RE told me on CD15 "It's magically CD3 for you again!" and had me start Clomid again, with the dosage bumped up to 150mg. I was getting watery CM before I was even finished with it this time so I'm hoping it's going to work this round. Has anyone else ever done Clomid cycles so close together and what was your experience?

Jen- I did that my first round of Clomid. I too had an ultrasound with no follies so he had me start Clomid that day, the next higher dose. I did ovulate after that and stayed on that higher dose two more cycles before my BFP.

That's what I'm currently doing too. My cd15 u/s showed no growth after 100mg clomid, but they had grown the first cycle on that dose. So the doc put me back on clomid at 150 mg for 5 more days. I personally had no growth with that extra dose, but have read that some women do. I do in about an hour to double check and see if they've grown at all....

November: Clomid 100mg cd 3-7 cd12-16 clomid 150mg....no go, no follies growing, big cyst
January: Clomid 200mg cd 3-7 & ovidrel...now we wait!

Wifeofmedstudent, your experience sounds identical to mine! (Except the part about the extra dose not helping growth...don't know on that yet) Let me know your results after you get back from your u/s!

Welp, 20 follicles, but all under 10mm...grr. Did develop an 18mm cyst outside the ovary- so that's nice! =P
So now I can decide whether to wait for a period or to take prometrium and then start clomid again. My estrogen dropped a bunch this week, so I won't be ovulating. Good news for you though, Jen, the doc seemed puzzled that it hadn't worked- so maybe you'll get good results!! KUP!

I had that happen to me on my first cycle, Jen. I didn't respond to the 50mg so they bumped me up to 100mg right away. It is actually happening to me again this cycle- I didn't respond to the 100mg this time so now they are bumping me up to 150mg today. It seems to be pretty common. GL to you!

I was put on clomid 100mg a day(cd 4-9). On CD 9 I had no Growth. RE had me do another round of Clomid at 200mg a day(cd9-13), Still no growth. On cd 13 He had my start Injectables, Gonal-F Inj at 150 units. I did that for 2 days then it went down to 112.5 for a day, back up to 150 for 2 days then up to 225 for 2 days. I currently have 3 Follies, One on the left at 11mm(no change since wednesday) and 2 on the right at 12mm. I go in tomorrow to see how they are progressing. Hopefully I can trigger soon. I have asked him about AF comming bc she was due on monday. He said there is no more Af lol. We'll see what happens I guess. Hope I helped.
i havent done it yet but last week my doctor did say if this round of clomid didnt work (50mg) i would go straight to either femara or gonal-f right away. he said as of last week my hormone levels wouldnt necessitate bleeding in between. i hadnt responded initially.
but then yesterday i met with the nurse for an u/s and i had a 14.4mm follie and my lining was three layers so i go back on monday to see if i progressed.. i would guess cause of the lining if i dont progress ill prob have to bleed in between again now..

I did that---started the second dose around CD16 I think. I was totally unresponsive to Clomid, so after the double doses, my RE dropped that protocol and went to injects---all in the same cycle. But, for many women, all it take is a higher dose, so hopefully that protocol will work for you. Good luck!
Basically, if you aren't responding, you are constantly on "CD3" from a hormonal standpoint, with your E2/LH and progesterone at baseline levels, so no real reason to force a bleed at that point. I dont' think many REs would let a cycle go on so long that there were lining issues, but trying a couple of different doses of Clomid within a reasonable timeframe isn't going to hurt anything.
