Default Anyone-else agree PCOS HAs caused more Ailments?

Hello Ladies,
I am just curious if any of you agree with myself & my dr's.
I was a very healthy child asside rom my asthma, and occaisional colds/flu.
When I was 16 1/2 my body/life started to change. I was very thing nice body, active full of life constantly on the go and just happy & no worries about my health what so ever!
But it seems as i went thru my journey to find out what is wrong with me, once PCOS was DX it seemed my health went down hill since that point.
First no periods, then the weight gain, hair growth, then the DX of PCOS, then TMJ then high cholesterol, heart palplatations, acid reflux, mood swings, major fatigue, lumps in my legs by 19, feeling icky all the time, never wanting to do anything or go anywhere, trying to fiet constantly, migraines started, herniated discs & degenerative disc disease, IBS, final dx of IR tachycardia, fibroids discovered, chronic tonsilitis, sinus problems, light headedness constantly, nausea constantly, upset stomach constantly, lumps that are sore thru out my body that come & go now, my white blood count/platelets & hemoglobin have been high for 4 yrs, so now i have been referred to hematologist!! So in order as they happened is what i have been enduring since 16 1/2!!!

So I have been told PCOS seems to cause many different things to go on in your body, leading to other diseases & what not. Due to the person not keeping their pcos under control. And even if it is controlled it may still go into many different ailments.
Im just wondering how may of you agree with me & are enduring the same situation?

Its been frusterating, scary, annoying & just a drain on my bank account!!
I have been really ill since end of September with chrinic tonsilitis (tonsils & adenoids recently removed), stomach pains & terrible bloating in my stomach, just feeling ill everyday, back & forth to drs specialist, cat scans, endoscopy, colonoscopy, blod work & a change in PMD's finally. & In 2 weeks she has made so much progress with me regarding finding out whats wrong. However every week since the end of September, i am at dr's 1-3 x's per week!!!! With a $25 co-pay each time!!!! SO at this point Im frusterated, scared, sad angry and many other emotions!! I have been out of work since october as well!
I have been told like i said PCOS does go into many other ailments. So I guess its expected!!!!

I guess this is a bit of a rant as well!! Im sorry for it being so long, I just wanted to be detailed!!!

Please respond with any of your experiences!

I'm so sorry your having all that trouble. I don't have anything except some of the pco symptoms and that is bad enough. I hope you and your doc can work together to find ways to make your life better.

Default Awe!

Thank you for your kind consoling words!I do appreciate it so much!
I also forgot to post that because of all this I now have an anxiety disorder!!!! LOL!!
Just DX last week! I never thought the gut wrenching feelings and palpalatations were that!! I have had it since a teeneager and I would get that feeling in my stomach on my way home & I always knew i would be in trouble for something!!! It has gotten worse over the yrs, but i never thought it would be that!!! So now i am on the lowest dose of xanax once a day or as needed. My mom & Dr had to talk me into taking this for a half hr last week!!!! But they were both right & it has been working!!!
SO yeah add that to my list!!!

Well, diabetes/IR and obesity, two common symptoms of PCOS can cause a host of health problems. Once your body is batteling one thing, it can loose a battle with another.

Diet can also be a huge factor. If you have been on less than healthy fad diets it can cause problems with the body. Lots of fresh veggies, fruit, whole grains and lean meat are a good starter for a good diet. When I wasn't eating this way I started having health problems that were just weird including pnemonia (in 7th grade!), an infection in the lining of my ribcage, leg pains that were never explained, fatigue (still battle it now, but not as bad), sinus problems, dark patches on my skin, oily hair, etc.

Wow, sounds like u have your own list of ailments as well
I am starting to eat healthier and getting excercise as much as i feel weak and tired i am just gonna have to push myself.I have been reading the pcos diet book that has been sittin in the house gettin all dusty, so i am putting it to good use again!!

I went to my gastro today & he thinks he knws what the problem may be as my last cat scan in er showed alot of lymphatic tissue in the middle of my intestines so he also thinks thats whats in my legs as well, so i am goin in monday for a push-endoscopy where he will look further down into the region.

Hopefully i wll get more feedback with simialr situations! But thanks for replying & lots of luck to u with coping with your own ailments!

I am 37 and have had pcos since a very young age and in the last 12 years I have been diagnosed with depression, anxiety, IBS ,fibromylgia, high blood pressure, fatty liver and so on I have done alot of research and unfortunately they are all attributed to PCOS.
I am going to a gyno tomorrow to see about getting a hysto as I already suffer from most of the menapause symptoms,
I did find a really good new book out called The sugar solution and it has a chapter on PCOS and the sugar effect. Good diet and healthy eating in it to, as we all know pcos often is followed with insulin resistance.

The things that you are describing have been linked to Mercury poisoning, and candidiasis, most likely a combination of the 2, since the presence of mercury in the body can lead to candidiasis.
Do you have any silver colored metal dental fillings? Do you eat a lot of tuna, or other fish that is high in mercury? Have you had any childhood vaccines? Most childhood vaccines used to have a mercury, and some adult vaccines (like flu) still do have mercury.

Default I'm curious too...

Hi ladies...I'm new. I've had PCOS or known about it for 4 yrs. I'm not on health insurance right now, which sucks. But I'd been doing well controlling it with diet etc. Anyhow...since this is already out there.... I was curious, if when the cysts burst does it cause nausea or diarhea? For a week I've been nauseous and then the last couple days, I've had diahrrea and then today, my ovaries hurt like hell.... do you all think it's related? Honestly I hadn't been putting the two together until today when the ovaries started to hurt.

I definitley think PCOS opens the door to more stuff. Over the past year, I've gradually felt worse. Off andon, I have colds, random pain, which my doctor thinks is fibromylgia, and I've started feeling some heart palpitations. Which are probably caused by me being anxious about all of this! lol Also, I'll be honest, currently I'm not dieting, but I really need to , b/c I know it will help my PCOS symptoms and my overall health. Please let me know if you need anyone to talk to! Support systems are very important and help immensley. MY support system right now is Jesus.

Default PCos ain't fun

Hi ladies I haven't been on in awhile, since I have last posted I have been to mu Gyno and he is preparing me for a hysterectomy, I had a shot of Lupron on tues and will get 2 more once a month to see if it will help with the pain and cysts. So far so good as I have read a lot of horror stories about the stuff but I already suffer from so many of the side effects, so I am sure a few more won't kill me. I wish there was some magic pill that would fix it all at once but if there was the doctors and drug companies would go out of business.
I'll keep you all posted on my progress and if any ones has any ? I'de be more than happy to answer them if I can. Good luck to you all
