Default Anyone else been perscribed Letrozole?

My Dr has prescribed this to me and he explained that there is a lot of misinformation about it due to a badly done study which caused the company to black label it for fertility usage. But he says according to newer better conducted studies that it is just as safe as Clomid.

Has anyone actually been prescribed this and tried it yet? Currently Even though prescribed my insurance is not letting me get it. =/

I am going to be starting my first round of femara as soon as I get my next period. I am currently on marvelon to bring on a period. The problem with most pharmacies and drug companies is that femara (letrozole) is prescribed for pt's with breast cancer. It is very effective at blocking the estrogen for estrogen caused breast cancer. I will attach the info my doc gave me about letrozole, let me know if it doesn't get to you.
Good luck!!!
I've been trying to find out info, as I"m starting 100mg of clomid and letrozole this month.

Ahh thank you. He tried to explain to DH and myself about it when he prescribed it.

The troubles with this medi for us now is with my insurance..

With AF's timing i needed to start the Letrozole Friday night. With the insurance company giving me a hard time they said I might not be approved untill Tuesday thanks to labor day being monday. Now this is assuming I even do get approved. I tried without avail to explaine how time sensitive this is they were like oh you can just pay the 150 dollars cash then. Ugh!

So my Dr. put me back on clomid and we just hope there isn't a need for a next time but if AF shows up again next month my dr is allready fighting with them to let me take it.

Just in case you have not seen this since your post:

http://novartiscoupon.mckesson.com/f...CouponMain.jsp

The above is a link to a coupon for a FREE 30 day trial supply of femara. You have to take this "coupon" to your doctor to be filled out and then take it to the pharmacy and it is FREE! (Coupon expires 12/31/09)

Hope this helps!

Sending tons of baby dust your way!
