I had my endocrinologist appointment today, I suppose it went quite well. He wants me to go back to a day ward in about a month to have lots of blood tests done and to have an injection of androgens (I think) to lower the level of male hormones in my blood. My testosterone level was 3.6 and that's while taking dianette which is supposed to lower it. Apparently it's supposed to be 2.
Has anyone else gone though this? he wants me to have these injections for a few months before he decides if I should go on metformin or another treatment.
I also got a really patronosing lecture about weight loss being like a bank account and that to lose weight you have to spend more calories than you are putting in etc. It really annoys me, I've been on a diet for the best part of my life! A couple of years back I got so fed up that I ate 5 slices of dry toast a day and nothing else, after 3 weeks I lost 8 pounds but you cant live on dry toast forever!
I am a bit disappointed though, I was hoping to come away from it with a prescription for met

Oh well, maybe they'll give me something when I'm big as a house and diabetic (which runs in my family)

.
Hope u are all well, sorry about being a misery guts!
