I'm so glad I saw this thread! I have the same fear! I have nightmares about it, even! My DH doesn't know that I shave. He knows that I'm hairy and that I do something about it, but he doesn't know what. He just thinks "woman stuff" and ignores it. LOL. But I have to shave every day or I'd have a beard! I used to wax, which was better, because it didn't grow in all stubbly, but then I had laser done and had to shave it for that (even though it didn't work in the long run) and I haven't been able to go back to waxing because I'd have to let it grow out first!
I always really want to go on mission trips at church, but I can't because they have to go days without showering and I'd be the bearded woman!
Ok so I'm 24 and have recently been diagnosed with a neurological disorder. I have always bleached my upper lip and this summer I was in and out of the hospital. I couldn't bleach and obviously it was the last thing on my mind. Honestly, when your life is on the line and the doctors tell you that you might not make it, you are NOT thinking about the hair on my face
Last year, I was in a coma for a week, and when I woke up, I found that my face was completely hairy! No one had taken care of it for me. Not even my mom or sister. It was mortifying.
Thank God I am not the only one! I always think about this sort of thing... No matter how much I try I just can't help it!
Being in a coma and waking up a month later to find that I have grown a full beard is my worst nightmare and to top it off I know for a fact that no one in my family would think to take care of my facial hair problem because that would be the last thing on their mind!

Did they actually know, before that, that you had beard growth? Did they know that you would have wanted them to shave you? Could they have been afraid that they would have been interfering against your wishes? Would the hospital even have allowed them to shave you? They may have been in a very difficult situation.
This is sooooo funny that others think of this too. I thought I was the only one. Several years ago my mom and I made a pact that , if need be, we would be the one to take care of each others little "special needs"
HAhaahahhaa ME TOO! I watch LOST...and please tell me HOW they manage to wear tank tops and shorts, let alone parade around in their underwear after MONTHS of being on the island. What would happen if I got stranded on an island?
You guys are lucky you can tell your mom that you tweeze/shave/remove chin hair. I can't tell her...I love her to death but I know that when she gets mad she will throw it back on me. I haven't even told her that I probably have PCOS....she'll say its just in my head and nothing's wrong. *sigh* to each their own I guess

I feel exactly the same way. I always tell my sis-in-law that if I'm ever in a coma or die she has to pluck my beard! lol

That if for some reason you ended up in the hospital or incapacitated for a little while that everyone who would come to see you would see the hair growing under/on your chin? I worry so much about that! I also look at the girls on Survivor and I am so jealous because they don't have a full beard after a few weeks in the jungle!
Please do not take this the wrong way, (I'm in the same boat as you, we all are to some degree), but I really couldn't stop laughing after reading your comments !
Gosh, PCOS really is a pain in the butt, especially when women start worrying about their beards growing out while they're in the jungle !
I think it's better to find some humor in everything, otherwise you really do go nuts.
Haha- I know...it is best to have a sense of humor about it...I always just kid around to my husband that someday i'll be over to grow a beard faster than him...maybe i'll join the circus! lol j/k....i really do HATE it tho....
