Points: 1,701.49 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 1,701.49 | anyone with endometriosis? i wonder if anyone can give me some advice. i've been to my doctor recently about recent painful periods, they've always been quite bad but recently, last months, so much more painful. i had pain in my ovary (i think) mid cycle and as soon as it stopped i had other pain across my lower abdomen. my doctor thinks it may be endometriosis and i wondered if someone could tell me what this feels like? i have a pain right across my lower abdomen and its difficult to pinpoint the origin but the centre is a little worse. it feel like an internal bruise if that makes any sense, like an ache. it gets really bad just before af and is unbearable almost for the first couple of days then it dies down and becomes less noticeable at end of af. just wondered if anyone had any ideas. and help greatly appreciated.

My Mood: Points: 9,336.71 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 9,336.71 | I have endo and PCOS and it does get very painful. One day before AF I'll wake up in the fetal position crying because it feels like someone is taking out my plumbing, but also like a numb dull acheing feeling after the sharp pains. I also get doubled over, my lower right usually is the side that hurts the most. It usually hurts during or after sex. I know TMI but thats one of the symptoms something is seriously wrong. The only way the doc will know if you have endo is if they do a laproscopic inspection. You are in and out in one day, really minor surgery. When they discoverd endo on me they were already in there removing an egg sized cysts. The doc went ahead and corterized the area. My New Repro Endocronologist told me that endometreosis can grow back within 3 months to a year. Its your bodies inability to fight the cells outside the uteris. I have been trying to boost my immune system with vitamins. Evening primose oil seems to help with my moods and the pain. I would def consider the lap getting done because from what I have been reading these cells can turn cancerous in time. I will most likely being corterized again soon because of the pain I am feeling. I hope this helps you and good luck in your search. If you need any other information please feel free to contact me on here or at llr2906@hotmail.com. Have a great day. ((HUGS))

If the back pain is persistant and it will be take some advil and put a warm compress on both your back and your tummy. Eventually it will work its way out.

If you have endo, the estrogen will cause the pain you discribe.
If you have Adneomyosis(sp?) then the progestin can cause pain.
If you have both...you are in for non stop pain that will vary all month long!!
If you have a "bruise" feeling, you may have scar tissue(adhesions). When they attach to your internal organs they can contract and cause all kids of pain and discomfort.
Ask your doctor for pelvic floor physical therapy.(Or learn how to do Kegal exersises).
They can help relieve some of the pain.
I know first hand your pain. Hang in there!

My Mood: Points: 314.00 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 314.00 | I have endo and pcos....I always had an ache on my left side when i woke up, i thought i had just slept on that side for years. It felt like all my organs were there and i'd have to walk it off for an hour or two before it went away. I have always had pcos, but didn't know about the endo until i started having sharp pains in my UPPER abdomen. They did laparscopy and all my organs were fused together on the left side. So that was the aching I thought was normal.
Now I am on met for my pcos,a week today, and I am having pains all over....but I can handle it....you learn to cope....They told me after some women have a baby it goes away...sometimes....so....I've been through the surgery and everything.....I don't want to scare you,lol.....so i will just say.....If you wanna talk, I'll listen and may be of some help....MAY.....and good luck. |

My Mood: Points: 21,494.23 Bank: 744,770.58 Total Points: 766,264.81 | My doc suspects that I also have endo. I remember my periods being horrible when I was young. The pain was terrible. I bled heavily, had horrible cramps, and terrible sharp pains. It hurt to have a BM or to pee. It was worse in the week before my period and the first several days into my period. I missed a lot of school when I was in high school because of it.
After PCOS reared its ugly head and caused havoc to my AF, I didn't notice the problems as bad, PROBABLY because I went from 10-12 AF a year to 1-3 a year. I think that is why I didn't *mind* AF being MIA so much.
Now that my AF is getting back to 10-12 times a year, I have noticed the pain to be excruciating. I cannot stand it. My RE put me on Naprosyn for it, which helps some. Sometimes sex is unbearable as well. At my last RE visit she said she felt a "mass" behind my cervix that was probably endo, and from my symptoms and family history she suspected that was the culprit of my pain. However, she wants me to lose some weight before she would do a lap (won't do it unless you are under 200 pds).
I am switching REs and have an appt with my new one on May 23rd. Hopefully she will offer some advice and options for me.
Good luck to you!
Stacie M

I had the laproscopy to discover if it was endo, and they removed it then. That was almost 3 years ago. I am getting ready to schedule another surgery b/c the pain has gotten so bad. Let us know what the doctor says, and I hope you feel better soon.
