Anyone ever have a D&C?

I have been experienceing non stop bleeding for months. My first dr told me it was because I was overweight and to lose weight and it would stop. I finally went for a second opinion and she took blood to check for hormone irregularities and did a vaginal ultrasound. The ultrasound showed no polyps, cyts or fibroids. She said the endometrial stripe was a little thick but no tumors, masses or anything. The last step is an endometrial biopsy. I am on coumadin from blood clots last year so the dr suggested a d&C instead because that would be done as an outpatient at a hospital just in case I start bleeding really bad. I'm terrified of the d&C, I have never had anything like that done before and I've never had any kind of sedation. I'm really nervous.

I had one after a miscarriage in 2003 -- there was not a whole lot of pain...slight tenderness above the pelvic bone afterwards for about a day but really nothing too bad. They put in an IV for the sedation, wheeled me into OR. All I remember is the anethesiologist saying he was going to give me something to make me sleepy and the next thing I knew I was being woken up back in my room. I was home about an hour later...physically it was easy as pie.

I had one after a mc too, they knock you out, and you wake up after. I cramped for a couple of months after off and on, but it did not hurt.

I had a D & C after a MC in 1994. They sedated me and it was done. No cramping, no complications. Theres nothing to worry about dear.
