Default Anyone ever have a hard time telling the difference between gas pains and cramps?

My whole abdomen is pretty icky feeling now. Granted, I haven't had a bm in 2 days, so I pretty sure its that.

But it bothers me how much gas pain feel like bad cramps.

Anyone else or am I just dense?

My cramping always felt kind of like a churning feeling or an ache. Try not to worry too much about it, which I know is hard. I think for the most part as long as you aren't bleeding try not to stress yourself out. I strongly recommend taking Metamucil or Benefiber to help keep you regular. Also Fiber One bars :-) Hope it gets better!

I had the same thing happen to me in my first trimester when I went off the metformin. The pain was aweful! It got better when I drank more water and increased the fibre.
Feel better, you're not alone......

Abdominal or intestinal cramping...and constipation...has been my primary symptom so far. Stool softeners helped, and RE okayed them.

I differentiate between them because these cramps are so familiar from my time on Met, or just life...ovary or menstrual cramping feels different and less familiar to me.

I had this issue at the beginning of my second trimester... First tri I had diahreah then it changed to constipation around 13 14 weeks I used stool softners. But, one day i was cramping so bad.. felt like something wanted to come out.. of my womanly parts.. and my husband made me call. The nurse said I was fine just probably a lot of gas that your intestins kinda wrap around that area and sometimes it's confusing. Once it went away I could tell the difference. Try not to worry! It's easier said than done.. but still try.

Well I can kinda tell a little better. My back is killing me (herniated discs) and I was trying to bend down to stretch it and I had terrible pains in my abdomen which go away when I straighten up. I think thats gas.

like 3days after I found out I was preggo I woke up with terrible cramping and I was soo scared I rushed to the ER when I walked in all the people had on masks and what not so that made it worse cause I definitely didn't want the swine flu. So on the drive there I was still cramping however...uhm I passed gas and the pains mysteriously went away, lol.
I was still determined to get checked to make sure my little bean was ok, but they didnt have an u/s machine and those masks made me change my mind. I felt better and didnt have anymore problems.
I have upped my fiber intake but this doesn't seem to be helping either I just hope I don't get hemorroids! That would totally suck.

Yeah - sometimes I have intensely painful spasming cramps, but then I pass gass...and then they go away. And they're not rythmic/regular, just sporadic.

I can't really tell the difference either. But I havent freaked out, as long as I have no spotting then I think I am ok.
