Question Anyone ever have a m/c on progesterone?

Has anyone ever had a m/c on progesterone? Did you start bleeding or did you find out during an u/s. I swear that I had a doctor tell me once that progesterone can keep a pregnancy in even if you have already had a m/c.

I had a miscarriage at 6w3d on progesterone. I had started spotting and went to the dr. and had an u/s and hcg. After the tests confirmed I was miscarrying, I stopped the progesterone.

My second m/c I was on progesterone, I had a missed m/c. We saw the heartbeat at 6 wks 4 days. Had my first ob appt at 9 wks 1 day and there was no heartbeat, baby measured at 7 wks or so. I had no spotting, no cramping no nothing, I had to have a d&c the next day. I'm sorry for your loss!

Miracle, I was wondering how you're doing.
Wasn't sure if you were asking out of curiosity or because you are worried...
I hope it is out of curiosity and not the latter...

I've heard that the prometrium suppositories can actually cause a drop in progesterone that can cause a miscarriage. It was on some internet site that was promoting natural progesterone cream instead -- something about the suppositories being metabolized fast or something.

Another- Just worried given my m/c history. I had someone tell me once that taking progesterone would "keep" a m/c in so that the only way you would find out the pg was over is by u/s. My u/s is on Monday and I am going crazy is all. I have had a natural m/c and a missed misscarrige where they didn't find it until I had an u/s. Talk about painful! I am just scared of the same thing happening. Only Monday will tell. How are you holding up? I know how hard it is.

I hope everything goes well at the ultrasound.
I understand worrying, and I hope it's for nothing. Make sure to update me on the ultrasound, I really hope it goes well! (*hugs*)

I'm holding up a little better, a lot of wonderful people like you have helped out when my family couldn't.

I was on 200mgs of prometrium and started spotting went to the er and my beta dropped from 180 to 66 they told me i am miscarrying...i think the prometrium will only save the pregnancy if the issue is low progesterone ..if there is another issue...it can't help much.

i was on progesterone supp. 200 mg 2x/day and just found out that i'm miscarrying as well. progesterone doesn't keep a m/c in, it just helps to maintain the uterine lining if ur own progesterone is low. my first signs were a sudden dark brown spotting that has continued for 2 days and turned into light bleeding....good luck with ur u/s

I had a miscarriage while on Prochieve (vaginal progesterone). I started spotting and then saw on the ultrasound that the heartbeat was gone. Once I stopped the progesterone, I ended up having a natural miscarriage 2 days later.
